The Dazu Rock Carvings - Travelers are picked up from their Chongqing hotel and taken to the first destination, the Dazu Rock Carvings.

The Dazu Rock Carvings are an extensive ancient Buddhist stone carving site located en route to Chengdu, constructed during the Song dynasty, 800 years ago. Over 10,000 statues are intricately carved into a 500-meter-long vertical cliff, showcasing the traditional Chinese religious art style and carving expertise. Additionally, it serves as a Buddhist institute and sacred site, offering prayers and redemption to all Buddhists.

In 1999, the Dazu Rock Carvings were added to the World Heritage List by UNESCO.

The visit to the Baoding site takes approximately 2 hours. Afterward, the journey continues to the next destination, Chengdu City, which is a 3-hour drive.

Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan Province, is the home of panda bears and is a modern city comparable in size to Chongqing.

Upon arrival, dinner is arranged before checking into the hotel for an overnight stay in Chengdu.

Admission to the Dazu Rock Carvings is 115 yuan per adult. Traveler’s accommodation is not included.

Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Base

Giant Panda Breeding Research Base (Xiongmao Jidi) - Today is dedicated to the adorable panda bears, so get ready for some fluffy cuteness. The day starts early as pandas are most lively in the morning.

The Chengdu Panda Base is the largest panda research and preservation facility in the world and the best place to observe pandas. It is located approximately 30 km from downtown Chengdu, about a 1-hour drive.

The excursion at the base includes both giant pandas and red pandas. The facility covers a large area, and there is an optional interior golf cart ride available for 20 yuan per adult, though it is often crowded. A relaxed walking tour is recommended instead.

Lunch can be a simple snack break at the facility for those who wish to spend more time with the pandas, or travelers can return downtown for a regular meal. Lunch is provided.

Admission to the panda base is 55 yuan per adult.

Chengdu - After enjoying time with the pandas, travelers can choose to end the tour in Chengdu or return to Chongqing with the group. Complimentary drop-off at Chengdu Train Station or Tianfu International Airport is available.
