Excellent show with numerous mini-shows packaged into 90-minutes! - There were numerous mini-shows packaged into the 90-minutes, including acrobatics, shadow play, traditional song and dance, comedy show and finally the mask changers. Very entertaining even for non-Chinese speakers.

Fun for everyone - Awesome experience - fun for my whole family. We each had different things that we came away enjoying the most. We got VIP tickets and sat front and center - we also enjoyed the preshow massage and shadow puppets.

Very entertaining time, performances I've never seen before. - Very entertaining. The combination of acts is a great introduction of the various types of performances of this area. My two favorites were the hand-puppet, with the ribbon twirling, and the shadow puppets. Third place would be the face changers, although the comedy routine with the Sichuan couple was also great. If you're going to go, spend the extra bucks and get the A-class or VIP tickets, which includes the choice of snacks, ear cleaning, or costume wearing. I recommend the costume wearing wholeheartedly, that was a blast for our party of 4. Note also that A class and VIP seats are five seats around a table, versus B and C seats being seats on a long table.

A wonderful and colourful presentation. - We went to the Sichuan Opera in Chengdu as part of a tour package. The entire tour was excellent, and their choice of the Sichuan Opera for one of our evenings was terrific. The costumes and back drops were exceptional, and the different parts of the production were very professional. We had a wonderful evening, and we recommend this presentation very highly.

Great show, one quibble about communication - This was my second time seeing the Opera and it was a fantastic performance! My only complaint was that we booked the VIP experience and one of the options was to try on the costumes and have makeup done. Unfortunately it was never specified that this had to be done early before the show. By the time we arrived, it was no longer an option. So if you want to do the makeup and costume, be sure to arrive early!

Entertaining variety show - Great little variety show with a flavour of Sichuan culture and talent. The atmosphere is relaxed and you are served tea on your own table (with endless refills). The only complaint would be the heat and no AC, but there is a bamboo fan provided (if you don't mind fanning your wrist to death). The host gives a small introduction to each act, including an English translation, which is thoughtful and helpful. Overall, there is much talent on display, and I would definitely recommend this experience.

Mask changing was incredible - We had a very difficult time finding the location and even with directions in Chinese, our driver could not find the theater. Finally, after asking several people we found the theater and sat in our seats just before the 90 minute show started. I would highly recommend not sitting close to the stage. We were in row 20 and that was close enough. The chairs were arranged around a table where tea was served. It was more like a variety show with very little English so certain acts were hard to follow. There were two singers who used a microphone which amplified their singing so loudly that it truly hurt my ears. I have never had this problem at concerts but I had to plug my ears due to the pain. The theater was filled with some locals but the majority were tour groups. We didn't really appreciate the acts until the masking changing at the very end of the show. I would give that act 5 stars but the other acts 3 at the most so I averaged in at 4. I would advise buying the tickets in advance.
