Great and unique itinerary with friendly tour guide - Thrilled to have seen the pandas at chengdu research base but also to have a unique and fun experience learning about chengdu cuisine at the cooking class! I thought that it was really refreshing to have the cooking class in a very local outsoor chinese restaurant. Thanks flora for being such a joy in our tour!

Discovering Chengdu - We had Cecile as our tour guide who was on time to meet us at hotel. She was very welcoming and spoke English well. In the morning she took us to see the Pandas. She guided us to avoid the crowds which was great which allowed us to maximise our time whilst at the Panda Research Base. We learnt a lot about the research centre and how Pandas learn to survive in the wild. Lunch time we visited a small noodle cafe where the locals eat. We had a bowl of a popular beef noodle soup which was tasty and cheap! Then we spent some time walking through the park and visited the local market, followed by a cooking class. I was expecting the Sichuan cuisine for us to cook to be quite hot and spicy. But what we cooked was quite mild. The day was filled with activities and before you know it the day had past. Thank you Cecile for showing us around. We wish we had more time to explore more surroundings of Chengdu.
