Great ride, Very comfortable. - The driver was prompt and professional. Really comfortable car seats for the 4 of us. Felt like 1st class! Driver kindly escorted us to the entrance to purchase tickets for the Panda Base and the Boat tour to the Giant Buddha in Leshan.

Great Efficient Way to See these Two Sites in One Day - Booking a private driver to see these two must visit sites seemed really expensive to me at first, but we were so glad we did. We managed to fit two far flung sites into one day and have enough time for each. Getting to the sites with mass transit would have been complicated and taken a lot more time as we would have had to wait for buses or trains or whatever. This private tour guaranteed a comfortable luxury vehicle, with a safety conscious driver who didn't drive in a way that made us feel sick. (We took some taxis in China that left us queazy). That was really important, as you spend hours in the car to get to these places. We started at the Panda base which was good as we got there at opening, and the site just gets busier and busier as the day goes on. My big recommendation is to go to the Guided Tours info building that's just inside the entrance and book a private guided tour on the spot. It was WELL worth the money. This is an enormous panda zoo, with paths everywhere, and not a lot of signage. There are so many people that you can't really get close to some signs anyway. The Panda base official tour guide had great English (I think her name was Lizzy if I remember?) and we wore little headphones to hear her perfectly. She was extremely knowledgable and pointed out the significance of each panda, leading us efficiently to the most important enclosures. I peppered her with nonstop questions and got solid answers the whole tour. I definitly recommend going with the Panda Base's official tour guide service. Maybe we paid about $40 for 90 minutes (?) The driver had water and snacks and helped us buy tickets and to the entrance of each site. He even got on the little train bus with us to make sure we got right to the entrance of the LeShan Buddha, a step that wasn't obvious to us non-Chinese speakers at all. At that site, we chose to walk up to the head rather than take the boat tour. I recommend the boat tour if you can't walk up a lot of steps or don't want to walk, or if you want to see the whole buddha top to bottom. When we were there, the stairs down from the head were closed so we only really saw the head, but that was fine. There's a nice buddhist temple and pagoda on site and it was fun to explore that a bit too. You get nice ambience if you walk in. The driver didn't speak English so used translation software on his phone to communicate. He managed to be nice and friendly even if we couldn't really talk. Whatever you do in China, I recommend figuring out WeChat and Google Translate so you can communicate with people.

Good value for money - ideal solution for this visit - This was a repeat performance - to take the family to these two sites, both of which are important for anyone who enjoys traveling in China. This tour is an ideal solution for anyone who does not want the hassle of groups or incomprehensible "English-speaking" guides that you have to smile at all day out of politeness, while straining to understand what on earth they are wittering on about. The quality of this tour has not changed since my last visit in 2023 - the driver on this occasion, Huang Lin, was, just like her colleague, excellent, very safe and discreet, she left us in peace, but gave us all the support that we could have wanted by helping us to obtain the admission tickets to the Panda Centre and the Leshan Buddha. Excellent value for money. Altogether a very impressive, unforgettable day - but be prepared for a full day's tourism!

Chengdu day tour with the red pandas! - This day tour is definitely worth the price, especially with Shi Jian Hua as our companion/ driver. Although English was not his language he tried his very best using an app translator to assist us smoothly on the entire tour. I have nothing else to say but Shi Jian Hua’s kindness was really incomparable. It was my first experience seeing pandas. The red pandas are the cutest!

Pleasant helpful driver - This was exactly as promised. A safe, pleasant, helpful driver to shuttle you to both the Panda Center and the Leshan Buddha. Lovely driver. He doesn’t speak English, but uses a translating application to converse. Realise this is just transportation. Do not expect a guide. If you’re looking for reliable transport to both sights look no further.

Great tour - Shi Jianhua is a great driver and a caring person. He gives a lot of attention and makes you comfortable. Thanks to Shi this tour was great.

Full day in Chengdu - Excellent experience, punctuality, kindness, accompanied and guided at all times. The very friendly guide. They kept everything promised and more. Master Hu was the best!!

Private ride with help accessing sites - Our driver was extremely helpful, taking us to buy tickets and showing us where to go in. At Leshan he even queued for us, insisting we sit and cool down. The comfy car with free water and air con were also lovely given the heat.
