Interesting tour - Glad we did this tour. Our guide, Philip, was very knowledgeable and interesting. Took us round at a sensible pace and included a ‘ comfort’ stop. Gave us a good insight into old Charleston.

Get to Know the Real Charleston. - Tour guide, Philip, combined in-depth knowledge and a sense of humor to bring Charleston‘s history alive. The knowledge he shared about houses, churches, alleyways, roads, architecture and decorative wrought iron was combined with details about significant historical individuals and historical events and natural events. He dispelled commonly held myths with facts. The walking pace was perfect and he willingly paused to answer dozens of questions and allow for picture taking. History is his background and it clearly shows. I would take a tour again with him at any time. Now, as I walk around Charleston, I have a much greater appreciation for everything I see and experience.

Sign up before it's too late - Philip was a great guide; he is very knowledgeable about the area. While some guides / adults would be flustered by a 4 year old in the group and her random questions, Philip handled it like a champ. I learned a ton of historical and fun info on this tour. Another huge bonus for me: Philip texted us before the tour with clarification of the location to meet. Since we unexpectedly ran into Carnival Cruise traffic, this was amazing to be able to communicate our last minute challenges. I definitely recommend Philip's tour for anyone looking to get a sampling of Charleston's history and significance.
