Participants will then explore a variety of significant sites and artifacts throughout the tour to successfully conclude the ‘escape.’ Spanning roughly one and a half miles, this journey traverses Charleston’s most historically rich quarter.

This swashbuckling adventure is inspired by the actual Pirate Siege of Charles Town in 1718. You’ll need to navigate your escape from the city by following the clues in the provided packet. Complete the adventure within the suggested time to avoid the grim destiny of becoming a pirate.

The selection of historical sites for the experience and the information in the packet have been thoroughly reviewed for historical accuracy by two local historians and the director of the Powder Magazine.

Great Way to Experience Charleston - My hubby and I loved our walking tour of Charleston guided by this clever pirate-history-themed scavenger hunt! What a great way to see things around the city we would've totally passed by otherwise. We loved the history and the way the hunt wove some playfulness into our walk!

Pirate Scavenger Hunt - This was our favorite excursion in Charleston! We weren’t sure what to expect, but my husband and I both love history and learning about the places we visit. We’ve been here before, but this scavenger hunt took us to places in Charleston we never would have found on our own. We did a city tour two days prior, and, while good, this was pure fun. I highly recommend for anyone-kids would love this, as would couples, and other groups. Can’t speak highly enough about this experience!

Fun way to explore. - Definitely a fun way to wander around historic downtown Charleston. I definitely would not have seen as much walking around on my own without the scavenger hunt to lead me all around the interesting spots, so it was definitely worth it.

We Recommend It! - Good history, self guided walk through French quarter, which pointed out things that you would have walked right by without noticing.

Pirates for a day! - My husband and I booked a ghost tour with Adam (which was 10/10….he is amazing). It was the first time we had done anything like this. We decided to try the Pirate Escape because the ghost tour was so good, and we had the BEST time! We picked our packet up from the powder museum, Adam and Bryan had everything so nicely laid out and easy to follow. The scavenger hunt took us on the most beautiful tour of Charleston and allowed us to see places that we would have never seen before! We laughed so much, and had the best time together doing this! For the price it is BEYOND worth it! Please give this a shot, you won’t regret it! Thanks Adam & Bryan! You guys are awesome!

Great solo tour and adventure! - What a fun and interactive tour with a great game twist! It was educational and engaging and really felt like we were going back in time with all of the cool historical easter eggs we would not have found just walking around on our own! It was such an affordable enjoyable way to explore Charleston on our own while still feeling like we got a professional tour! Will be telling all of my friends and family to try this out when they visit!

Great concept but needs a little more direction from the crew. - The scavenger hunt brought us to streets and places we never would have never probably wandered to. I think we would have liked maybe a tour guide with us or someone from the pirate scavenger hunt to meet us and maybe explain a little bit more as to what was expected.
