January 2024 Charleston Footprints Walking Tour - I highly recommend this walking tour to anyone who’s really interested in knowing Charleston, SC. The tour guide is not only knowledgeable about the architectural structures in Charleston but also the rich history of Charleston! I am terrible with names but I took the tour last January 14 at 1:30 pm. We paid for a 2hrs walking tour but we got 2.5 hours of tour because he takes time to answer questions and really provide us with great information that made us want to come back to Charleston! I highly recommend our tour guide because he is very friendly, witty, and energetic! I’m usually bored with history classes but with him teaching it, I was impressed!

Excellent guide, tons of history and local lore. A bit shorted on the time; didn’t get what we paid for! - Our guide, Al, was a walking encyclopedia of Charleston history. He was a great storyteller and had a good sense of humor. We learned and saw a lot from him. He was able to connect and explain so much about the people who made the city what it is today, with a focus on the women, enslaved and free Black people, all the many different religious groups. We all agreed, though, that it would be really helpful to have a simple one-sheet handout with the names & locations of some of the places that we might want to go back to. Our one complaint, however: we paid for a three-hour tour and only got two hours. A handful of us stuck around to ask a few more questions, but basically we started a little after 10 a.m. and finished at noon.
