Additional Information

This unique museum is a vault of some of China’s most exquisite 3,000-year-old bronze artifacts and 1,500-year-old Buddhist sculptures, the majority of which have been retrieved from international auction houses. The collection of bronzes features sacrificial pots, ceremonial bell sets, wine containers, chariot components, and carved animals, all adorned with intricate designs and spiritual symbols. The Buddhist statues primarily follow the Qing Zhou style, a particularly attractive style that blends ancient Indian Gandara art with indigenous Chinese Taoism and Confucianism. The museum allows you to closely observe these items, marvel at their finely crafted details, and capture wonderful pictures. During our tour, we’ll delve into the artistry of bronze creation, the significance of bronze imagery, the function of bronzes in feudal Chinese society, the inception of Buddhism and how it was adapted by Chinese followers, along with numerous Buddhist art styles. At the conclusion of this tour, you will possess a comprehensive understanding of Chinese bronze and Buddhist art.
