An absolute blast! Don’t miss out! - We had no idea what to expect but we had the best time. The class is small (just three of us) and JK was an incredible instructor. We learned about the history of Sool as well as the process of making makgeolli. We got to try many varieties of makgeolli (that all tasted so different) and then to make our own. One of us left the next day and two in two weeks so you can either take home what you make or take home already finished makgeolli. JK also recommended a local rice wine restaurant (with vegetarian options) just down the street and it was some of the best food we’ve had in Seoul. All in all, a completely brilliant experience that is not to miss!

One of the best days of our trip!!! - What a great experience! Highly recommend learning and having hands on experience making Makgeolli. We also got to taste other types of alcohol from Korea! Our teacher was so knowledgeable. We got some history, current standards and hands on experience. We left with the tools needed to make our own in Canada. We are excited to get started.

Entertaining and Informative! - I love how our instructor made science and explanations fun and entertaining. He had a fabulous personality and it came through in his instructions. In addition, he worked hard to accommodate my picky tastes for makgeolli. The class was fun and informative and our makgeolli turned out great!

Learn how to brew your own Makgeolli at home PLUS Makgeolli Tasting - I enjoyed taking the Makgeolli Brewing Class run by the Sool Company Korea. It was interesting to know how makgeolli is made and that you can learn how to brew your own at home too. The amazing instructor, Valentin, explained not just how to brew Makgeolli but how Korean Alcohol history and the process of how Korean Alcohols such as 소주 soju, 청주 cheongju, and 탁주 takju are made. After taking the class, I tried to make my own Makgeolli a few times, and it turned out well. I highly recommend taking this class if you are traveling to Korea but also to expats living in Korea.

Makgeolli Brewing Class - Great class, with solid explanations and personable instructor. It was fun meeting other classmates and the tasting session was amazing. I now have too much makgeolli waiting to be drank, but that is a pretty good problem to have!
