Doi Inthanon ranks high among Thailand’s most visited national parks. It’s notable for its treks, remote villages, viewpoints, birdwatching, and cool climate throughout the year at high altitudes. The central park entrance lies approximately 70 km southwest of Chiang Mai’s city center.
Also referred to as ‘Thailand’s Roof’, Doi Inthanon National Park spans 482 km² in the Chiang Mai province in Thailand’s northern region. The park is a segment of the Himalayan mountain range, with elevations varying from 800 to 2,565 meters above sea level. The park’s highest point is Doi Inthanon Mountain, Thailand’s highest summit. The park experiences high humidity and chilly temperatures all year round.
