White Temple (Wat Rong Khun)
Rong Khun Temple stands out from other temples due to its construction entirely in a brilliant white color, with sparkling reflections from mirrored glass mosaics embedded in the white plaster. This temple is the brainchild of Mr. Chalermchai Kositpipat, one of Thailand’s most celebrated artists, who aimed to create a temple in white to symbolize the purity of Lord Buddha. The artist continues to infuse his religious beliefs and desire to enhance Buddhism in Thailand into his contemporary art design.
The great standing Buddha, also white, positioned in front of the back, is equally magnificent. Between the White Temple, the Black House, and the Blue Temple, Chiang Rai is undoubtedly the city of vibrant temples!
- Baan Dam Museum - A 207 km drive from the center of Chiang Mai city to Baan Dam (Black House) reveals the unique creation of national artist, Thawan Duchanee. Part art studio, part museum, part home, Baan Dam is an eclectic mix of traditional northern Thai buildings interspersed with some extraordinary modern designs. Baan Dam is a thought-provoking blend of fun, the surreal, and the somber. While it’s fair to say that some of the artwork and themes on display may not appeal to everyone, visiting the Black House is still recommended if you are in Chiang Rai.
- Golden Triangle - The Golden Triangle is the region where the borders of Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar converge at the confluence of the Ruak and Mekong rivers. The term “Golden Triangle,” coined by the CIA, is often used more broadly to describe an area of approximately 950,000 square kilometers (367,000 sq mi) that spans the mountains of the three neighboring countries.
Alongside Afghanistan in the Golden Crescent, it has been one of the most significant opium-producing regions in Asia, and globally, since the 1950s. Most of the world’s heroin originated from the Golden Triangle until the early 21st century when Afghanistan became the largest producer.
Return to hotel around 18:30-19:00 hrs.

Wat Rong Seur Ten (Blue Temple) - Wat Rong Sue Ten (Blue Temple)
Chiang Rai Blue Temple or Wat Rong Seua Ten is situated in Rong Suea Ten in the district of Rimkok, a few kilometers outside Chiang Rai. It is a recent temple still under construction, although its main hall is now completed. Its stunning blue interior with a large white Buddha is particularly striking. The paintings are reminiscent of the style seen inside the White Temple (Wat Rong Khun). The great standing Buddha, also white, positioned in front of the back, is equally magnificent. Between the White Temple, the Black House, and the Blue Temple, Chiang Rai is undoubtedly the city of vibrant temples. -
Mae Khachan Hot Spring - Mae Khachan Hot Springs is located in Wiang Pa Pao, Chiang Rai. The thermal waters can be enjoyed at several locations in this district, but for travelers, it is conveniently located right next to the main Chiang Mai – Chiang Rai Highway 118 (on both sides of the road).
Most tour operators describe this as an attraction, but honestly, your driver will need a break halfway to Chiang Rai and will stop regardless of your preference! - Chiang Rai - Driving to and from the destination
