Highlights
  • Chandragiri Hills Cable Car - The Chandragiri Nature Day Hiking Trip to Taudaha kicks off at approximately 8:30 am when a Himalayan Planet Adventures representative collects you from your accommodation and escorts you via a private conveyance to the commencement point of the Chandragiri Cable Car. Ascending to the summit of Chandragiri Hill (Elev. 2,520 m) is a brisk 10-minute adventure, soaring over the dense forests beneath. As you gain altitude, the sweeping vistas of the towering Himalayan ranges become increasingly visible. At the apex, you’re treated to a breathtaking perspective of the mountain chains stretching from the Annapurnas in the west to the summit of Mt. Everest, the globe’s highest point, in the east. The peak is also home to the sacred Bhaleshwor Mahadev Temple, a significant Hindu shrine.\n\nMarvel at the extraordinary mountain scenery, then proceed along the crest for additional spectacular Himalayan panoramas. Following a two-hour trek, pause for a tea break at Jiban Safal Hotel, then make your way to the Champa Devi shrine for yet more splendid vistas. The journey continues until you veer off towards Taudaha, descending through the jungle rich with wildflowers for the final hour until you reach the spot where your vehicle will be waiting. The entire excursion spans roughly nine hours for a comprehensive full-day hike in the Kathmandu vicinity.

Fun day exploring! - I had such a lovely day with Pankaj at Chandragiri hills! I was feeling kind of sick and so we hiked down the hill a way and then back up which was perfect for me. There is also a lot to do and see at the top of the hill. Pankaj was fun to talk with and taught me all about the temple. He was very kind and took good care of me. If you do the full hike it is a very long day but the forest is beautiful so it would be worth it! I highly recommend!!

Great tour and guide (but lots of litter) - Som is a fantastic guide with a genuine passion for guiding and an absolute wealth of knowledge. I learnt a lot from him. Guide and drivers were punctual, and communication with the tour company was good. The trail itself is beautiful and I can only imagine how spectacular it would be if it wasn’t a cloudy day, as we couldn’t see any of the big mountains and mountain ranges surrounding us. Som can communicate in both English and Chinese, is also extremely interested in Chinese culture and language so I would recommend him to anybody looking for a guide who can speak Chinese. Break at the tea house was lovely, and picnic lunch was a simple but delicious takeaway at a scenic spot. Lots of steps so would NOT recommend for anybody with knee problems. Some slippery and muddy sections, hiking poles might be helpful. Trail is not too difficult but moderate fitness required, you get quite huffy puffy going uphill! The only thing I was disappointed with was all the rubbish. Nothing to do with the tour or company, but it was an absolute eyesore. Nepal is blessed with so much natural beauty, I wish the government and local people would take more initiative in taking care of the land! Thank you for a great day.

Up and down the hills…! - The trip starts with a wonderful hindou temple, on top of the mountains where we were lucky enough to see a ceremony! And then we went up and down the hills, on and on again! On the old trail from Nepal to India. Magnificent view points on the Himalayas are permanent companions of this soft hike.

Amazing panoramic views - My tour guide was Som who was excellent and very kind. The hike itself was fantastic the entire hike you get panoramic views of the Himalayas and Kathmandu valley. It’s like nothing I have ever seen before. The hike it’s self wasn’t too hard but definitely not easy there were some stairs as well that you would climb up and down near the end. All around a hike that I can definitely recommend and my tour guide and driver were great.

Chandragiri day Trekking - Was one of the most beautiful days i had in Nepal. I was taken care of by my friendly trekking tour guide Shishir who was very caring and patient. His main concern was how to make it a special and happy day tailored to my own pace. This trek could be a good training/ warmup before heading one of the Nepalee's trekking ventures, the views from the top were simply amazing, the lunch box was so yammy .... Thanks a lot to Shishir who successfully made it a great day, and special thanks to our friendly and professional driver Binod who drove us safely through the curvy hills. So grateful and many thanks to the team for all the provided services, and I highly recommend them and their services. Rajia

Fantastic hike, highly recommend - If you have limited time in Kathmandu and you are looking for a good and challenging hike, this is a great choice. Shishir and Roshan were a great pair of guides, lots of fun to hang out with. I even managed to see some of the mountains sticking out above the clouds, a rare treat at this time of year.

Day tour experience Chandragiri - We planed a trekking tour to a nearby hill in order to see the mountains as well walk a bit. Our guide took ad to the cable lift and up there to a nice gill overlooking the Kathmandu valley. As warned in advance to see the peaks one should need clear sky. Easy thing I thought but it seems that usually the sky is cloudy. However, we had booked mountain view flight. Up on Chandragir nice Tee house with snacks and kitchen as well as some facilities for recreational activities, especially children. Bach to Kathmandu through forest and the woods, no peoples encounters with few houses of local people on the road. Easy trek of 4 hour walk up and mainly downhill, no water on the trek et all. Picturesque views of the green hills around, Buddist monastery at the end of the trek. The local guide was kind as other encounters, too!
