Gentleman guide Rusty - 12 & 13 February 2026 We’ve spent two full days with Rusty taking us around in his black car playing some charming music during the rides. We saw all the important architectural stuff without hurry. Rusty explains in clear words and uses a very gentle tone. His prononciation of a ‘t’ at the end of a word sounds great. Lunch or coffee in places he recommended were also nice experiences. Regards from a senior Belgian architectural couple. Inge & Dag

Rusty will show you Chandigarh like no other guide - I spent two days with Rusty, one of them solo in his car and one with a larger group in a rented car, and both were excellent! As an architect and urban planner, I was interested in seeing both the more touristy sites and some lesser known buildings (like much of the housing), and Rusty delivered on both with great flexibility, deep knowledge, good food, and lots of humor. This was the best tour guide experience I’ve had off TripAdvisor, I highly recommend him!

Rusty is your ticket to a great Chandigarh experience! - Rusty is profoundly educated on all things Chandigarh. He’s also lots of fun! He is a sincere, down to earth person who’s not only a great guide but who is also good company. Rusty customized my tour since mine was a private one. Everything was seamless— easy transitions between locations, super interesting details shared and explained, and special access to places off the tourist beaten path. I felt protected and cared for the entire day. Rusty is such a good guy and a brilliant guide.

Fantastic 2-day tour - architecture, planning, and beyond! - Rustom provides a deep dive into Chandigarh’s fascinating history, with Jeanneret and Corbusier serving as a springboard for two days of great conversation and site visits. As a third generation local, he offers perspectives and insider knowledge that books and maps alone can’t match. He sincerely loves his city and makes that feeling contagious. Hours of effortless conversation flowed naturally and I felt I got a deeper understanding of a place than I’ve experienced with other city guides over the years. Plus he knows all the places to stop for meals and snacks, providing options to suit various tastes and diets (the Indian Coffee House was a personal highlight). On top of all this, he’s a great driver! I highly recommend this tour even if you’re not an architecture buff - you’ll have fun getting to know this remarkable city.

Excellent Architectural Tour of Chandigarh - Thank you Rusty for an excellent guided tour. Rusty was so helpful even before the tour, I was having issues booking my train ticket from Amritsar to Chandigarh and he helped me sort it out. The tour was very interesting and informative, the pace was good and he delivered the information in a fun way, my 22 year old son really enjoyed it too. We also loved the lunch place that Rusty took us too, all part of a great experience. If you go to Chandigarh and you are interested in architecture and the history of the city I would highly recommended booking this tour.

A brilliant tour by an expert, intelligent and very companiable guide - We came to Chanigard to explore the extraordinary architectural vision & legacy of Le Corbusier - and his cousin Pierre Jeanneret, to create India’s first planned city to be a symbol of progress after Partition. We chose this tour because of the clarity of Rusty's passion & knowledge characterising his activity booking site. We were not disappointed; this level of passion & knowledge shone out through every aspect of our day together. Through his vivid narrative, Rusty explained how the city embodies ideals of modernist architecture—order, functionality & harmony between the built environment & nature. He shared Le Corbusier's plan to create a grid of self-sufficient sectors, wide boulevards & a strict hierarchy of roads; he explained how iconic civic buildings, such as the University & Capitol Complex, expressed his bold use of concrete & sculptural form. Rusty's careful planning & expertise ensured access to these places & spaces we would not have been able to access otherwise; another wonderful aspect of this highly recommended tour. Rusty's sense of humour & intelligence shone throughout; he is a fantastic ambassador for this underrated city. Its appeal comes both from its historical architectural legacy and from its contemporary charm as a green, calm, and highly livable city, distinguished by abundant open spaces, tree-lined avenues, and a measured pace of life: a great attraction after the more hectic pace of most Indian urban places. Put it on your itinerary - and make this tour a key part of your stay.

Best day in Chandigarh! - It was my first time in Chandigarh but unfortunately the city was shut due to Guru Nanak holiday. As a last attempt, I contacted Rusty requesting if he could still show me around to some other local places. He promptly agreed to take me off his beaten path and accommodated my last minute request. We agreed to venture into the outskirts of Chandigarh to a restricted forest area, which was truly a hidden gem. It was a beautiful, sunny day to be outdoors and the experience was so memorable given Rusty’s enthusiasm and planning to make sure I have the perfect day out. We oversaw a beautiful lake, some birds and trekked through the forest expanse. The best surprise was having a picnic at the watchtower. Rusty rustled up some protein bars, noodles and even an espresso (as a coffee lover, I could not ask for more!). We further headed back to spend some time in the city to discover an abandoned cinema hall from the 50s, a university and some socialist housings. The day ended on a perfect note with a delicious chola kulcha lunch and lassi! I would highly recommend reaching out to Rusty whether u want to explore the city, experience the local life or very simply have a good time!

Two amazing days learning about Chandigarh's history, architecture, and food - I chose this tour based on the description and reviews, with little prior knowledge of Chandigarh. I'm glad I did! Rusty clearly knows and cares about about Chandigarh. It felt like a long-time friend was sharing their favorite sites & stops. I really appreciated the flexibility. Rusty adapted to my constraints, preferences, and personality, and adjusted our schedules and stops to make the best use of time. For each meal or snack, he presented several options to choose from. I hope to return with family, and this tour will be a highlight!
