- Chamarel Seven Coloured Earth Geopark - Chamarel is a village in the southwest of Mauritius with a population of 700. It is named after the Frenchman Charles Antoine de Chazal de Chamarel, who lived in the area around 1800.
Chamarel is primarily known for its scenic locations and nature attractions in its neighborhood.
Among them are the Seven Colored Earth, the Chamarel Falls and the Black River Gorges National Park. The surrounding area is also known for its locally grown coffee and for the famous Rhum distillery .

Awesome - We had an amazing day, we saw so much and our guide Vikesh was so knowledgeable. Vikesh knew his countries history and his insight into hiscou triesculture was wonderful. We were well looked after and highly recomend this tour and Vikesh.

A Must-Do in Mauritius!! - This was one of the best things we did in Mauritius. Our driver was great, he was on time to pick us up at the hotel, was very knowledgeable about the country and gave us a little history lesson while we were driving. He took photos of us whenever we asked and never rushed us at any of the stops. We had to exchange some currency and he brought us to a place we could do that which was very nice as he was not obligated to. The tour was well organized and the sights were breathtaking. Lunch was at a local restaurant and very delicious. We were able to see monkeys at one of the stops which was a bonus. Cannot recommend this tour enough!!

Great tour of SW Mauritius - Just had a great day with Rajan. Saw lots of interesting things and Rajan looked after us really well including taking lots of photos for us. Would definitely recommend.

The South tour with lunch - Vikash was our driver for the private tour and he was fantastic. Such a humble soul with vast amount of knowledge on mauritius history. Absolutely loved him as our tour guide. 100% would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting mauritius. Everything was made smooth and easy for us.

A lovely tour of the sights - We had a lovely day exploring the sights of the South West of the island. Our driver was very friendly. He was personable and answered our questions throughout the day, without being overbearing, allowing us time to explore on our own.

Highlights of Mauritius - We were able to visit waterfalls, parks and mountains. Time was made available for shopping. Stopped for photo along the way.

Great Tour - The South West Island tour was great! Our driver and guide, Nitesh was knowledgeable about the traditions and also great in explaining the history of the country. The lunch was not good. The fish was very dry.

Lunch was authentic - This tour had great reviews online (mostly due to the driver/guide). Although my driver was friendly and patient, he did not offer many explanations or interesting facts about Mauritius or the sites we were visiting. In fact, he spent quite some time on his cell phone. I therefore felt like I was being dropped off to ‘key locations’ and left to try to figure out why these were of significance.
The lunch was wonderful - very authentic!
