Good instructors and even better vibe - Amazing class with Jefferson today. He was very professional, we felt safe at all times, and he gave us good method to work and get better at surfing as beginners. Him and his crew were also very fun and extremely pleasant to interact with. We had a blast, highly recommend. Pura Vida Jefferson!

Amazing time to surf - Steven is a great surf instructor. Very professional to tell the conditions, keen to teach. He always bring me to the right spot in the suitable time and help me to catch as much good waves as possible and deal with hard conditions. It was so fun to surf with him for the week and learned a lot. And the surf shop provide a range of surfboard with quite good quality. I can always get one that suit me in a good way and try different. Really appreciate for the amazing sessions :)

Amazing surf lessons - Absolute favorite surf lessons I’ve taken ever. Jefferson is an AMAZING instructor. He has such calm, easy energy that I felt so confident in the waves. He is super patient and instructs in a way that is easy to understand and allows for quick progress. Him and the other instructors at Santa Teresa extreme are also just a ton of fun to surf with. Loved afternoon lessons at cabuya beach. Seriously if you’re looking for surf lessons in Santa Teresa you won’t find a better company to go with or better teacher than Jefferson.

Awesome Surf lessons and hassle free rentals. - My 8 yr daughter had lessons with Jefferson (as part of a private group lesson with two other kids with Sammy) and I cannot say enough good things. It was afternoon sideshore low tide and there was some swell but that didn’t phase either of them! My daughter was up and riding on a soft top every wave, ok foamie:) towards the end of the session he had her trying to turn left. She’s a goofy footer. Lots of fun was had and I could tell the patience and instruction was working! Afterwards He climbed a palm tree, brought down half a dozen cocos and proceeded to give a masterclass on how to open a coconut and drink the juice. Not sure if the kiddos were more excited about that or the surf lesson!! All in all the experience was excellent and I never once doubted the safety of my daughter. We ended up renting a board for her and a bodyboard for my son. My daughter really wants to surf now! Thank you Santa Teresa Extreme for your great local vibe and friendliness. We also rented Atv’s through them- initially just for the day which ended up being all week! Great Atv’s and Andres was super friendly and flexible, we kept on adding days. They also carry gas if you need to refill as there are no gas stations in town. They are very transparent with pricing and payment options too. When we go back I will absolutely go back to Santa Teresa extreme. Pura vida!

Good explanations and quick learning - The surflesson with Steven was so much fun and I learned a lot. Even that I just took 2 lessons. I would definitely have taken more lessons if I had more time.

Wildly fun in the rain! - Issac/Kali/Daniel are great teachers and had such enthusiasm even in the pouring rain! They are very patient and will make sure you get un that wave. Highly recommend if looking for really great teachers who know what they’re doing! Thank you!

Best instructors in Santa Teresa - Memo, Brichel and Jefferson were all amazing surf instructors! Not only did we have a lot of fun, but we learned how to surf so quick. Thanks to them, we met a bunch of awesome people and had a great time in Santa Teresa.

Inpatient and aggressive instructor - based on our experience, this is not a service we recommend to others. My wife and I got the beginner surf lessons in January 2023 and below are the pluses and minuses: Negatives: Our instructor, Steven, was good in the theory and explanation part, but so aggressive and inpatient when it came to real practice. Imagine this is your absolute first time learning surfing, and after the very first time going on the waves and making a mistake, he gets aggressive and wastes your time by irrelevant speeches like this is your time and your money, you should do better, you should do what I say etc!! It was a truly uncomfortable experience and I was really close to get back at him and end the lesson, but tolerated. we got to try only 3-4 waves with him! Also, we had to carry our boards from their shop to the beach and back. Not only it was inconvenient, but also they counted the first leg as part of our time which was around 15-20 minutes!! Positives: they let you keep the board to practice after the lesson. They also provide coconut water after the session.
