Tornasol Trailhead - Nestled in the lush slopes of the Bosque Estatal de Carite near the San Salvador neighborhood in Caguas, Puerto Rico, Cañón Tornasol (also known as “Salto San Salvador”) offers a hidden gem of a canyon and waterfall experience.
The trailhead guides visitors into a vibrant tropical environment filled with towering trees, thick underbrush, and a pristine mountain stream. The sound of rushing water is audible before the sight of an approximately 80-foot waterfall cascading into a crystal-clear plunge pool, creating a breathtaking and tranquil scene.
The trail can be steep, slippery, and somewhat rugged—sturdy hiking shoes are recommended.
The plunge pool beneath the waterfall is a stunning blue-green, perfect for a refreshing dip on a warm day (though it’s important to respect the currents and terrain).
Birdsong, the rustling of rainforest leaves, and dappled sunlight make this more of a “nature retreat” than a paved walkway.
There are fewer crowds compared to the main tourist attractions; the experience feels more genuine and authentic. Join us to discover the true essence of Puerto Rico, complete with food afterwards. - Guavate - Guavate is a lively mountain town in Cayey, Puerto Rico, renowned as the island’s hub of Puerto Rican culinary culture and traditional mountain charm.
