Enjoyed swimming. Hike... - Enjoyed swimming. Hike was a little more than expected (I need a cane to walk) but our guide was more than helpful and got me over the rough spots. The roast pig was delicious and I enjoyed the local music. Although it didn’t matter to me, the tour is advertised as providing water, snacks, and either beer, wine, or sangria. We got water but that was all. Again, that didn’t affect our overall enjoyment of the tour but it wasn’t exactly as advertised.

Lechon and a swim - Fabiola was the best tour guide for this experience. She is very knowledgeable about the area, the food and the ecology. Charco Azul is beautiful and a lovely hike. And Fabiola knows how to get you the best meal in Guavate. Great day with a passionate guide. Thanks, Fabiola!! 😀

Great hike and food adventure! - This was an excellent adventure that mixes the opportunity to hike to an amazing pond and also have a taste of the most cultural trail in regards to gastronomy. A very good choice if you’re looking to do both activities and have a blast.

Charco azul - I loved the food, but I loved the river even more. The water was crystal clear, even though it was super cold. I also really enjoyed the ride and the mountains. And the pork was delicious. I loved this place.

Unforgettable outdoor experience!! - A must-visit hidden gem in Puerto Rico! 🌴✨ The river here is crystal clear, calm, and surrounded by stunning greenery — the perfect spot to swim, relax, and take in the natural beauty of the island (bring water shoes). It feels peaceful, untouched, and absolutely refreshing. After enjoying the water, we had the chance to try authentic Puerto Rican food right on site — crispy lechón, arroz con gandules, morcilla, and fresh salad. Everything was flavorful and on spot made, making the experience even more special. If you’re looking for a mix of nature, culture, and great food, this is the place. Highly recommend adding it to your Puerto Rico itinerary! 💧🍴🌿

I Love Guavate - This was one of the best tours I've taken in PR. We visited Charco Azul, a natural pool in the forest. The waters were very cold, perfect for cooling off from the high Caribbean temperatures. Then we visited a spectacular restaurant where we enjoyed authentic Puerto Rican food. Highly recommended.

Guavate tour - Great tour to get out of San Juan and experience some nature and good food! The ride was comfortable with engaging conversation. They specialize in smaller groups so even though it was just me they didn’t cancel! As a solo female traveler my guide made sure I felt comfortable and safe while also having a great time. The swimming hole was a short walk through the forest maybe only about a 15-20min walk. Saw lots of lizards and some cool plants and insects! Some parts of the trail were a bit muddier but it was all part of the experience. After my swim in the natural blue pool we went to eat and my guide explained and recommend lots of great foods to try! I recommend this tour for a nice time getting out of the city. Thanks for a great time!

This was a good day... - This was a good day overall, but didn't meet my expectations really. I don't want to discourage anyone or take away from the whole experience but "food tour" is not really an accurate description for the activity. Although we went to Guavate which has a tonnn of restaurants and bars, we only got food from 1 place. I thought we were going to stop at multiple locations there and sample eats from different lechoneras. The community was so gorgeous though and a cold Medalla and cool breeze riverside really hit the spot on the warm day. The drive was scenic and serene to get to Charco Azul, however it was not worth planning a day around. We did not know there would be a hike to get there. The hike wasn't hard, we just were not prepared. I felt bad bringing my grandma along. Sean was our guide and he was super kind and knowledgeable. We had good chats all day and he made the experience fun! I'm grateful he was our guide. Thank you Sean!!

Not quite as advertised - This isnt exactly as advertised. This was essentially a glorified Uber out to Guavate. We were picked up in the tour guide's personal car and driven out to Guavate. The listing made it sound like a lively group excursion with beer/sangria available. This was nothing like that. The guide bought me a beer at some place on our way up and offered me a shot of liquor out of some bottle in his trunk. Saying "alcohol included" on the listing isn't really accurate. We got to the swimming hole first which was fine but nothing remarkable at all. The guide showed us lots of pictures from other much better spots on his phone but we did not go to those. It was basically a little walk through the woods to a non descript clearing with a little swimming hole. We then went for the pork which was basically just getting lunch at a roadside spot. Was hoping for live music since it was Saturday but there was none. The lechon was fine. Didn't really experience the famous "trail", we just got a meal at one spot then left. The tour guide was nice enough and seemed like a good guy but this wasn't really a "tour". We didn't get any history or context about what we were doing. Just drove to the swimming hole then lunch then back. This could probably be made into a good tour but this wasn't quite what we were hoping for.
