Very special place, great guide, memorable day out. - Thoroughly enjoyable day out in a stunningly beautiful place steeped in history. We were picked up on time outside the Hotel villa Romeo in Catania as it was the nearest meeting point we could find to the train station. We got breakfast in the hotel as non residents as there isn't much else around. We were driven by Andrea to sSortina first to see the outside if baroque churches, have coffee and pick ip some savory pastries for lunch. Then on to the Necropolis. We learned the history of the place as we walked through beautiful scenery, pointing out graves, rock formations, plants and wildlife. Paths are rough in places but Andrea can vary the walk if necessary depending on group, weather . He is knowledgeable and communicates information in a really pleasant way. An excellent guide who loves his job and often guides groups to Etna. Very special memorable day.
