Highlights
  • Anse La Raye - Its a chance to witness first hand the day-to-day running of typical village in St. Lucia. Fishing, mending of fishermen’s nets, artwork, and of course the ever welcoming folks.

This is local livelihood at its best.

  • Marigot Bay - Marigot Bay is a very popular stop as it offers picturesque views of the bay which, apart from its natural beauty offers protection during severe weather and is a well known filming location. The stop allows one to grab a few photos and stretch off before heading back.
  • Roseau Beach - The Roseau Valley provides the opportunity to capture the effort that goes into the production of our number one export crop, bananas. This happens to be the largest area of relatively flat lands in St. Lucia and as a result, its also home to a large number of farms.
  • Morne Fortune - Site of the last battle between the English and French, the area holds vast historic significance and the remnants of this is evident throughout the area. Fort Charlotte, holding cells, military, barracks are a few of the buildings that we will be going pastor our visit.
The area is also the final resting place of our first noble laureate, Sir Arthur Lewis.
  • Castries - A drive through the city center takes us past a few interesting buildings and monuments; Sir John Compton Statue at constitution park, our parliamentary buildings, Sir Dereck Walcott Square to name a few. All of those will be pointed out as we make our to the More Fortune area.

Nice tour of St. Lucia! - Wilky gave us a very nice tour in St. Lucia. We took beautiful pictures of our ship in port from Morne Fortune, viewed Marigot Bay where Dr Dolittle with Rex Harrison was filmed, and toured a banana plantation. Wilky was a great guide and allowed us plenty of time for pictures. After the tour, we spent a nice afternoon at Vigie Beach, just a $5 taxi ride from the port.

A nice intro, with a fun driver! - I booked the tour as an introduction to St. Lucia. We met Wilky at the dedignated pick up spot by the cruise ship port. He took us to see some nice spots and photo opps not too far from Port Castries. The roads on the way up were mostly hairpin, but he knew them well. He also took us to a banana plantation, where they were harvesting. That was great. He told us a lot about the island, but also about family life. It was a great experience. We really enjoyed it. Thank you, Wilky!

Andy was awesome. - After the wonderous beauty of Dominica the day before we weren't expecting to be delighted by Saint Lucia, but we were. Tour guide Andy was very chill and we had a great laugh. He had an itinerary but when asked he went to other places we requested. Granted it was a small group not interested in shopping for trinkets, but we really had a fantastic time. He was even prepared to do a 90 minute additional leg out to a close viewing point of the famous Pitons (the two high peaks that are part of the design of their national flag). In the end we decided that it was too far, but he was willing to go if that's what we wanted. Not surprisingly we were very happy to tip Andy.

Fantastic - You cannot go wrong with Andy. He customized a tour for two of us when we had 6 hr between disembarkation and the airport. I told him easy hiking in Pitons, and he took us to the Tet Paul trail. Then, with a few min to go, we stopped at a beach. Andy is informative without dominating the conversation. He stopped somewhere for a bag of cassava bread that was enchanting. You can tell he loves this island.

The tour was okay. - While the group was small (my friend and one other couple), the places visited were not memorable. In fact, the most memorable time spent was with the aforementioned couple from Pennsylvania. The driver answered questions about the island when asked, but had little to say most times. The places we visited were mostly places where we could spend our tourist dollars. This was not the best excursion that we booked through Viator.
