Slow food is delicious in cold climates - Piedmont is an area where artisan cuisine and wine such as Nebiolo are regional specialties. Slow food has evolved as a way of presenting wonderful specialties, it's become a manner of using local ingredients that leads Italy, indeed the world. Slow food is favored by locals and visitors who appreciate artisan cuisine. We enjoyed slow food, it's quite delicious, particularly in colder climates.

A simplicity that smacks of tradition. - The tasting in the splendid and quiet family-run Sobrero winery offers a complete experience of food and wine culture, the first part including a visit to the well-kept vineyards and an explanation of the history and origins of the winery. Following the second part of the experience takes place in the underground space of the cellar where we continue with the tasting of numerous wines from the Sobrero production, all accompanied by a platter of cured meats and cheese and other goodies such as hazelnuts and even Taggiasca olive oil all of which are always their own production, truly remarkable. My partner and I found ourselves in a relaxed and familiar environment that immediately put us at ease, thanks to the boy who acted as our guide throughout the experience, giving us exhaustive explanations on the history, production and traditions of the cellar and on the magnificent surrounding area of the Langhe, worth mentioning is the fact that there was also a foreign couple with us at the time and our guide explained the same things simultaneously in English too. Highly recommended for those looking for a complete and traditional tasting experience in the Langhe, especially if as a couple. Thanks and see you next time!

Really good experience! - It was really exciting! We were the only ones, so we got a lot out of it. Really good descriptions of the place, the production, the areas for the different wines as well as descriptions of each wine. Fantastic wine and really delicious food to go with it. Good and really nice guide who was good at English!

Wonderful afternoon tasting wines - We had a lovely afternoon. Beautiful views, wonderful selection, and explanations. The accompanying foods were a welcome compliment to your lovely wines. If I could have changed anything, I would have preferred to pay a little more and actually have the opportunity to sample the white and black labels. If someone comes to Barolo to taste wines, give them the full breadth of what you have to offer - especially if they are for sale at the end of the tasting!

You don't have to do it - The tour lasted around 2 hours. The main reason for the length was that the explanations were given alternately in Italian and English because of the number of participants (around 10). The activity consisted of two components: firstly, a look into the vineyards with explanations of grape varieties, cultivation methods and the region, and secondly, a wine tasting in the adjacent cellar. 7 wines were tasted. This was accompanied by the finger food that is usual in the region (crostinies, salami, ham, olives, etc.). We had nothing to complain about the finger food. However, at the wine tasting we were only poured enough wine each time to give us an idea of what it tasted like. We didn't want to get drunk at that time of day, but this really wasn't a tasting at the winery. I am not rating the wine as that is a matter of individual taste and everyone has their own opinion. Unfortunately, I have to say that at a price of €49 per person, the tasting is a bit overpriced. was so poor that we will definitely not repeat it. At the market square in Alba you can taste excellent wines directly from the winemaker for €6 a glass (150 cl) including sumptuous finger food. You can of course also buy the wines on site. These are priced at the usual regional prices. Due to the extremely high costs, however, you should not have them sent to you by a courier, otherwise the price will be unattractive.
