Great way to see the city - Great way to see Cartagena and to get a historical background of the area. Great way to explore different parts of the city.

City overview - The excursion gave a good overview of sites in the city. The bus is covered and open-air without AC. The traffic in Cartagena is dense and busy. That means slow stop-and-go movement for the bus.

There are not enough... - There are not enough buses. Waits are quite long and buses were packed. The one loop does give a good look at the city, but if you get off it is a long wait.

Good City Overview - This is a good way to get an overview of the city, particularly if you're already staying in the walled city. This will take you to Boca Grande, to the San Felipe fort, and around the outside of the walled city. The buses run every 45 minutes so its your decision on whether its worth getting off the bus. Its hot/sunny in Cartagena, so its nice that the top of the bus has a shade over it. The downside is the tour is somewhat unorganized. They might skip stops and go a different route which is bad if you want to go certain places. They might also tell non-cruise ship passengers to exit the bus with little warning if they decide to divert the bus to the cruise terminal. Again, the next bus won't show up for 45 minutes so this can be very frustrating. You get a Viator receipt / voucher after you check out. You can redeem it at any bus stop by giving it to the tour guide on board. They will give you a receipt that you can use to 'hop on' other buses. Also, yes, this is the same 1-day City Sightseeing hop-on hop-off bus tour that is listed on here at a slightly higher price.

Good Value - Good value for money friendly and informative staff. Headphones supplied for oral info. On the downside the traffic is horrendous so allow plenty of time

Avoid - This was the very worst hop on hop off tour we did. The guide wasn't very fluent in English and was hard to hear. The brochure wasn't much help when you were in old town. The traffic was insane and the time allotted to go the full route was inadequately stated. Avoid!

If you are a cruise visitor, DO NOT buy it. - We bought the cruise version of this hop-on hop-off. They picked up people at the gas station close to the port. They had to wait till the whole shuttle was full then sent us to the meeting point (almost waited for an hour). However, the drive took 45 minutes for a 10-minute road. When we arrived at the meeting point, we were not allowed to leave the shuttle, and the shuttle driver didn’t speak English. Till we switched to the red bus, almost two hours had been wasted. We got off at San Felipe de Barajas Fort to visit and then waited for 1 hour and 20 minutes for the bus, which they said the bus should arrive every 30 to 35 minutes. And it was not because of the bad traffic when we finally got on the bus, there was no traffic at all to go back to the meeting point. So, if you have a cruise visitor, don’t buy this at all. We were stressed waiting for the bus, and we were only able to visit one place that day. Taking a taxi will be much cheaper and more relaxing. If you are a land visitor, make your own judgment.

Not worth it - Just a rip off, better to take a taxi where you are going you can get to the old city for about $15,000 pesos and walk by yourself. The girl charged me 65,000 pesos on my credit card for two days.

No - The city of Cartagena is just not designed for a hop on hop off bus. The staff was friendly though. The bus had no AC, so it was extremely hot. The stops were just kinda eh. Ahain it had NOTHING to do with the staff I just feel this was a rip off.

NOTHING BUT A SCAM IN A SCAM CITY - This is another scam pf the scammiest city I have ever visited. Wanting to visit the old city on our own, we took a cab from the cruise port to THE OLD CITY. The driver, apparently in scam with the CitySighteeng took us instead just outside the old city to a Hop on Hop off stop where we had tp pay $55 per person to go into the old city. In other words we paid twice for the same service. We also waited more than 30 minutes in the scorching sun for the damn bus. they work together to scam unknowing tourists. A FRICKING SHAME!!!
