Wonderful comprehensive Cartagena tour, a must! - We had a wonderful 4 hour private tour of the walled city of Cartagena, Barrio Getsemaní and lively Mercado de Bazurto where we enjoyed an authentic Cartagena lunch. We even saw the sloths at Parque Del Centenario! Aldaberto is an excellent & professional guide whose family roots in Cartagena go back 10 generations. We learned so much about Cartagena’s history & culture which we wouldn’t have sightseeing on our own. He also gave us recommendations eateries & street food vendors which we stopped by afterwards for some delicious fried plantains and gelato. It was truly a privilege for us to have Aldaberto as our guide as he is kind, humble, patient, and courteous. He is fluent in English & Spanish and tells stories peppered with humor. He is also very flexible and we were able to pop into places that caught our interest while still seeing all that the tour included. I highly recommend this tour and if you’re lucky, you’ll have Aldaberto as your personal guide.

Enthusiastic Local - An excellent guide (and a driver to get to the restaurant) for only three guests. Good pace with interesting and thorough descriptions of history and sites.

Great Tour - The tour was great we saw some great sights and adalberto was very nice , funny and knowledgeable, the only downside was the car ride to Bazurto market for lunch the drivers car kept shutting off in traffic and the car was small so we weren’t very comfortable. Otherwise the food at the Bazurto market was amazing, I would definitely do it again.

Exploring Cartagena’s Hidden Gems - 🌞 **Hot and Humid Day:** The day we embarked on this tour was sweltering. The sun bore down relentlessly, and the humidity clung to our skin like a damp embrace. But little did we know that this discomfort would lead us to some unforgettable experiences. 👤 **Friendly and Informative Guide:** Our guide was a beacon of warmth and knowledge. 🛒 **Battle with Street Vendors:** However, not all was idyllic. The bustling streets were teeming with persistent street vendors. They hawked their wares relentlessly, tugging at our sleeves and urging us to buy trinkets, hats, and souvenirs. It became a dance of politeness and evasion, as we tried to appreciate their persistence while maintaining our sanity. 🌆 **Anthony Bourdain's Spot: A Shocking Encounter:** As our cab dropped us off at the entrance to the **Bazurto Market**, we were hit by an assault on our senses. The smell—an amalgamation of spices, fish, raw meat, and an unfortunate mix of garbage dumped across the street from the market—was almost unbearable. Anthony Bourdain's favorite spot was no glamorous culinary haven; it was gritty, raw, and authentic. We hesitated, wondering if we'd made a mistake. But once we stepped inside, the chaos transformed into something magical. The market buzzed with life—vendors shouting, colorful produce piled high, and locals haggling over prices. We followed our guide to a tucked-away corner where Real Cartagena Food awaited us. The flavors —meat skewers, chicken, seafood ceviche, and mysterious culinary curiosities. It was an adventure for our taste buds, and we were glad we took the plunge. 🌟 **Verdict: A Journey Worth Taking:** Despite the heat, the persistent vendors, and the initial shock of Bourdain's spot, this tour was very good.
