Additional Information

A mud volcano is fundamentally a mixture of geothermal water and volcanic ash that has been forced upward from the ground, forming a hill of dense, tepid muck. Mud baths have been known for millennia, with premier global spas providing an array of analogous therapies. It is widely thought that ash mud harbors remarkable curative qualities. Regardless of one’s stance on its healing power, immersing oneself in a basin of thick, hot mud is an amazing sensation and has a notable effect on the smoothness of one’s skin!

Yes it's an experience - We went to Cartagena for a bachelorette weekend with 9 girls and booked excursions via Hi Cartagena. Our tour guy for the mud volcano was Brayn along with our driver Rafa. From the moment Bryan & Rafa picked us up they were AMAZING! Bryan answered all our questions, accommodated our every need. Which isn't the easiest thing when it's a group of 9 women ;). Our group felt prepared and informed at every step of the excursion. For the second half of the day they took us to a beach club for some relaxation and lunch. He was able to get the resort to serve us lunch at the pool which was AMAZING. Their service was INCREDIBLE. As far as the mud volcano...it's and experience.

Hi Cartagena was amazing - We had Angela help us out with all reservations. She was extremely helping in booking a week’s worth of tours and helped us plan the best trip. We did the sunset catamaran tour (awesome), salsa dance class (great for beginners), volcano tour (kind of tourist trap), horseback riding tour (best tour we did), and catamaran day trip (ton of fun) which were all great. Angela even helped us book dinner reservations at the best restaurants. Highly recommend Hi Cartagena! A++++

just ok - It was not what I expected, it was crowed we were been rush to get out of the mud pool, the people who helps you to rinse don't do a good job and there is no shower or running water to rinse yourself, therefore you leave with mud under your pants.

STAY AWAY - My boyfriend and I booked the mud volcano and pink sea tour through Hi Cartagena. I've been many different countries on many different tours and this was the WORST ONE by far!! The mud volcano was very cool, we were excited we did that, but that is where it ends. After everyone finished the mud volcano, we stood around for 45 minutes for no reason and the "tour guide" wouldn't let us get on the bus. I say "tour guide" because she did literally nothing, didn't explain anything and barely spoke the whole time. So then we get on the bus to go to the pink sea. The AC is barely working, mind you its 115 degrees out, so we are all sweating cramped into this van for 45 mins. We got out and saw the pink sea for 15 mins and hopped back on the bus. It was another 45 mins to the lunch spot. Lunch was really good, but spending 1 1/2 hours at this beach was unnecessary. We then pile back onto the bus where the tour guide informs us that we actually had to switch vans and this van had NO AC. NO AC FOR 25 MINS IN 115 DEGREE HEAT. Unacceptable. We couldn't wait to get off the bus and was uncomfortable the entire time. I completely regret booking through Hi Cartagena and will NOT be recommending them to friends whatsoever
