Lovely, Informative, Air Conditioned, and Free! - We learned so much about emeralds. Our guide explained everything to us in English. Angelica was very knowledgeable. First we watched the artisans polishing and cutting Emeralds. Then we saw how Emeralds are mined. They even created a mini mine to walk through and see the process. There were many cases of stones and Emeralds from many countries with information about each. The tour ends in the showroom, but there was no pressure to buy. It was a lovely day out of the sun and in a delightful air conditioned space. We did purchase a lovely emerald pendant because we chose to for our anniversary. We did not feel obligated or pressured. Very interesting excursion - Very interesting is the explanation of the history of the mines, the manufacturing, and the types of precious stones that exist, including emeralds. They explained to us the importance of the cuts, color and brilliance of the emeralds. The attention of the staff and one of the owners was excellent.

Emerald museum experience - Excellent tour, it gives a great taste of reality from the miners work, and the emerald processing, not only as a jewelry piece but how it impacted though the world history

Great Tour and Emerald Excursion - We did not know we were getting a 3-4 hour tour. Was fabulous!! The museum was great. And we had private car tour of the town. We did buy a beautiful emerald.

Such an Amazing Tour - Moses was so knowledgeable! He knew so much about the history of the Colombian emeralds and was very prompt to show us the beauty and his personal favorite emerald in the museum. The service with the pick up from the place you are staying and back which was amazing. Would highly recommend this tour. Also bring some money if you wanna get something sweet for your significant other!

Excellent tour through the history of one of the most beautiful gems in the world - It is definitely a must-see, an excellent sample that allows us to learn about the origin, exploitation, extraction, cutting, and trade of Colombian emeralds, ideal for visiting with the family.

Emerald Museum - Melbis Olivo is excellent in her explanation, she demonstrates her passion for her work. An excellent service. Wonderful explanation of the emeralds and museum. If you come to Cartagena and the emerald museum you have to look for her.

An interesting way of discovering Emeralds - For someone who didn’t know much of what makes a good emerald, this tour was simple and informative. We were three women and one was my 18 year old daughter, she was interested which made this a great experience. An activity to do during the hottest hours of the day! The tour ends up in the showroom where they will show you the jewelry. I am not a fan of emeralds but still ended up buying a little souvenir. Really appreciated the service and how they managed the tax free forms. A very good way of getting to know the emerald mining process too.

Not overly pressurised to buy…. - The tour of the museum is interesting and it does provide an insight into the emeralds produced locally and the different qualities. They did not try to oversell in the shop afterwards.

Purchase not worth it. - Went to the museum from our Carnival cruise ship. Was so excited to own a real emerald from Columbia. Spent $200 American for a silver ring with square stones. Beautiful piece of jewelry. I was so pleased. Came home wearing the ring. The silver is so soft, everything I did bent the shank and stones fell out. The first time I found the small emerald and had a jeweller fix it. Second time not more than a month later, same thing happened but unfortunately not able to find the stone. Now it just sits in my jewelry box missing a stone, bent shank and sad owner. Very disappointed 😢
