Not your usual, walking tour! - I was on a Viking tour and this was one of the excursions that was offered. Because I had some issues with one of my knees I didn’t want to go on the walking tour and instead selected to go here as it was a jewelry making class. It was a lot of fun! It was interesting to hear about the emeralds and to make the pieces (very easy) with the instructor. On our tour, they let you keep one of the four pieces you made, and you could buy the other three for a very reasonable price in my opinion. The quality of the emerald for your project is rough, non-polished and you do end up with a unique item. The instructors are young people that I believe are learning, the craft of jewelry making. That being said, they were very helpful and friendly. After the class you get a short trip through their museum and then they let you downstairs into the store. Of course, the store has very expensive pieces but I was able to purchase several pieces at a reasonable price and was happy with what I bought. I would definitely want to go again, but with more money ;-)

Make Jewelry and meet the Students! - We took a tour offered on "Ruby - Princess Cruise line". We enjoyed meeting the Students and Maria helped us make our jewelry. I kept a ring, necklace & purchased a bracelet. The Emerald tour was quite fascinating with lots of displays. I would recommend to anyone.

The Emerald Museum and Jewelry Making Class was an Awesome Experience - The favorite parts of my experience was learning the history of the Colombian Emeralds; touring the emerald museum and of course the jewelry making class. Our class instructor was delightful and very patient. My tip for future travelers would be for them to visit the Caribe Jewely Museum and take the Jewelry Making Class. The aforementioned is fun as well as educational.

Fun jewelry class - I did the emerald jewelry making class with Jessica Gomez and Erlys Gomez as instructors. We made a pendant, earrings, bracelet and ring with silver wire. The emeralds are milky opaque (I.e. not transparent) but they are pretty colors. It was a lot of fun and Erlys was great with helping to fix mistakes and show you the techniques. You get to keep one of the pieces you make as included in the price of the class, but you can pay $30 to keep each additional piece you make - so an additional $90 on top of the price of the class if you would like to keep all four pieces. I highly recommend it!!

Emerald jewelry and museum tour - We did a jewelry class with Ana, which was great. She was very sweet and skilled. We then did a museum tour with Jessica which was very interesting. She was very knowledgeable, and we enjoyed both things!

Great experience - Jessica and Ana were great guides and instructors to the world of emeralds and jewelry making. Ana was patient and encouraging. Jessica was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The shop is incredibly. I'll be back for the advanced class and I'll be sure to save up to buy my wife a necklace.

Hard Pass - Ultimately, this was a sales gimmick. Although our "teacher," Maria, was lovely, this "three hour class" was just a 45 minute class, followed by a two hour Reach-Around Rodeo to trap you in the retail jewelry store. Some notes for the owner: If you sell emerald jewelry, your "handlers" should be wearing your jewelry, even if just loaned for the day.
