Bazurto Market Tour - Andres is the best! - Andres was very easy to communicate with. Setting up the tour was seamless and he responded quickly to all my questions. He met us at our hotel in Boca Grande and was very kind and friendly. I love his passion for his community and food. We toured Bazurto Market. It was something that my fiancée and I had interest in doing since our last visit. He started our tour with a sample of fresh juices from a local juice stand outside the market. This was a great and refreshing way to start. The market was busy as any market would be but it wasn't hard to make our way around. We started then exploring the ins and outs of the market. The amount of stalls in the market would be impossible to count. Its very large. Mostly produce vendors but everything else under the sun as well. Meat, fish, spices, clothes, hardware, shoes, etc.. We ate lunch at a newer more modern restaurant on the outside of the market. They had a buffet of seafood, delicious sancocho, cold beer, fresh juices, AC and some traditional dancing as entertainment. Lunch was very satisfying and from there we went back into the market for another 45 minutes of zig zagging through hundreds of stalls. We finished the day purchasing some fresh local fruits which were delicious. Andres was very friendly, easy to talk to, kind and considerate and extremely knowledgeable. He is native to Cartagena and we felt very safe with him at all times. He also speaks English which helped as I am a gringo with a limited amount of spanish. We ended up leaving some local candies purchased in the market in Andres's bag and he was kind enough to meet us out in the old City to retrieve them. He ended up sharing free passes for a rooftop and a free beer at the clock tower. We enjoyed some more beers and conversation. Andres is not only a tour guide but will become a trusted friend in Cartagena. We look forward to returning and having Andres cook for us and enjoy another food tour around the old city. Fun Introduction to Cartagena… - Andres was a lovely guide. We got a great feel for the different areas of Cartagena and the snack foods that people eat. My younger son loved the cherry soda and passion fruit Gatorade and my older son enjoyed the shrimp ceviche. It was a geeat introduction to the city. We returned to several of the areas he introduced to on our own the next day.

Great local meal - Andrés was extremely helpful an accommodating. Our meal was delicious and he made it extra special for my birthday. I would definitely recommend him.

The Incredible Bazurto Market and Cartagena Adventure! - Really enjoyed the tour with Andres. Not only does he know everything about the history and cuisine of Cartagena. (He was born and raised in Cartagena ) but he really is a great person with such positive energy. We started the tour in Centro Cartagena where I learned about the history of the food carts and cuisine of the surrounding area and he shared where he's favorite place for ceviche was. (now my favorite too) . We then walked through vibrant Getsemani district which is a must visit ! We then hopped in taxi to the Bazurto market (the market Anthony Bourdain visited and put on the map. ). I have traveled all over and the Bazurto Market is by far the most interesting and unique fresh food market I have ever been to. It's almost a city within a city. It is huge with maze like walkways with everything you could imagine from the freshest fish to butcher shops to every type of fruit and berries Columbia has to offer. Then we had a true local lunch - a fresh whole crispy fish which was the best I had ever eaten, We finished the market with a much needed cold local beer. It was a true adventure that I will never forget! Thank you Andres, for sharing your city with me and for a wonderful day !

A true taste of Cartagena - My first food tour in Cartagena with Andres was amazing, he is so passionate about the Cartagena traditional food and local food. We stopped off at all the best places to eat and snacks and took in the beautiful signs and sounds of the city of Cartagena

Native Colombian Chef for Private Dining Experience in Cartagena - Traveling abroad can be exciting but also intimidating. So we had a chef for an in-home meal one night. I met Andres on the first day of arriving for my 5-day stay in Getsamani, Cartagena. He reviewed his service with us, set expectations, and confirmed everything. Even escorted us to an eaterie for dinner our first evening. On his night to cook for us Andres arrived on time and prepared a feast, complete with table setting, wine, and desserts. The table was beautifully set and the smells were delightful. Andres prepared a variety of food that was pleasing to all of us. The surprise dish for me was the avocado and kiwi combination. It looked amazing and tasted even better. I love the way it complimented the mackerel and lobster. The dessert was delicious and different, a local favorite. I left the table stuffed and happy. Andres and his assistant cleared everything away, stored the food for seconds or a snack later and left the kitchen spotless. I highly recommend using Andres' services! He is an amazing chef, native to Cartagena, speaks English, and he also offers tours.

There was nothing... - There was nothing memorable about this tour. I have gone on many food tours in many cities and must say this had the worst food tastings. There was very little history to accompany the food. Not what I expected.
