A great day in Cartagena - Big Al was great! He was professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. Al showed us the culture of Cartagena. He was proud of his city and his pride made him a great tour host. I have mobility issues and use a cane. Al was very helpful and assisted me on walkways and stairs that were uneven or challenging. Our first stop was the convent Santa Cruz de la Popa on the top of the hill of Cartagena. The church and convent grounds are beautiful. Al explained the history of the convent and the steps taken to bring it back to its beauty. The courtyard, chapels, and other areas were interesting and awe inspiring. Standing on top of the hill you can see a magnificent view of the city of Cartagena. Well worth the drive to the top of the hill. Al walked us through the wall city, explaining the history and architecture of the area. Meeting us with the Viator excursion reps were easy. Al met us near the boat as scheduled. Using viator gave us a personal guided tour of Cartagena.

Tour guide extrordinare - Our driver/tour guide met us at the exit from the pier. From the first Manuel was a professional. We enjoyed the monastery, Could have skipped the fort. And we delighted in walking Old Town. Manuel's knowledge of Columbian history is outstanding. After the official part of the tour was over we asked Manuel to take us to a local restaurant. He nailed it. Delicious ceviche and cold beer. We would do another tour a long as Manuel was the guide.

Private car tour of Cartagena - Found the rep for the tour easy after exiting the cruise ship. Manuel our driver was very informed and gave us excellent facts about the history of the city. Good air conditioned car was used which was very important because it was hot. Private tour is the way to go due to ability to see more and jump in and out of car to take pictures instead of being on a bus.

Great Mini Tour of Cartagena's Major Attractions - Our driver and guide provided timely pick up near the Cruise dock and used a very efficient route, despite heavy traffic, to visit La Popa Monastery with 360 degree of the City, then to San Felipe Fort & Castle, the old walled City with a short shopping visit to the Armory and a 45 minute walking tour and a drive through the modern Bocagrande area. This was all accomplished within 3.5 hours, which fit the limited time of our Cruise line. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the City and provided an informative commentary as we drove and visited the various sites. Much better alternative to the Cruise line sponsored tours, which follow a "herd mentality" and emphasize shopping rather than an informative, scenic tour.

Excellent Overview of Cartagena - Manual our guide was excellent. Took us to various sights of Cartagena. He knew all the short cuts and ways through the crowded streets of “old town”. Showed us new town the fort the monastery shops and versions restaurants. A great tour. Thank you Manuel & Viator

This tour was designed for travelers... -
This tour was designed for travelers wanting a private tour. We planned out the sights we wanted to visit in a specified time frame. We were very pleased with the outcome. A guide greeted us at the dock and walked us to the waiting car and introduced us to our driver and guide. The itinerary was carried out just as we planned. We enjoyed major sights, walking in the city and shopping in the tourist area. The private guide was from the city and entertained us with information and stories. We were safely returned to our ship and recommend the tour to others.

Great driver - tour design could be better - Loved the church portion. Disappointed in the Fort portion. Need to rework as a direct entry bypassing vendors and allowing time to explore. Old town was interesting. Some time here better allocated to Fort stop. Guide very knowledgeable and helpful. Vendors way too aggressive detracting from experience.
