  • Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas - The largest fortress built by the Spanish in the American Hemisphere during the conquest, colonization and governance of Latin America.

There we will delight ourselves with the flavors of an exotic cuisine, but accessible to the most humble diners. We will discover the flavors that are part of the culinary art of an almost mythical place where very few tourists access. Your palate will be impressed with the condiments and cooking style of Cecilia Restaurant and others around it.
That’s why Culinary Critic and Chef Anthony Bourdain made it his favorite during his trips to Colombia!
  • Barrio chino - This community near the Bazurto Market where some of those who work diligently live is one of the expressions of a v

Experience of a lifetime! - My boyfriend did this bike tour solo - and raved about it the rest of the trip. No one else had signed up for that day so he had a 1:1 with the tour guide. He really got a unique experience going into the Bazuto Market (where the locals shop) and eating at Cecilia's - just like Anthony Bourdain did on his Colombia episode of No Reservations. He loved the food - he ate baby shark and turtle among other things - really unique and freshly made cuisine. He also saw the bay, and some other areas outside the Old City. We did a lot of the more traditional tours (walking tour, street food tour, etc) but this one really stood out to him as a special experience.

Excellent orientation to Cartagena - We very much enjoyed our lovely biking adventure to Cecelia’s and back. Gio was a fabulous tour guide: interesting, entertaining, and informative. The day was extremely hot and humid, so we were all soaked through most of the time (I’m glad I wore a swimsuit top!), but the sights and ride were fun, the food was delicious and generous. The ride was not too difficult or too long for us, as a middle age couple, but the streets were crowded with people and cars, and of course the roads are not the best. I would say this experience is for adults more on the active/athletic side of the coin.

Great way to learn some history, see sites that aren’t as tourist & get exercise. - What a great tour! This was my second time in a year visiting Cartegena and I saw so many things this time that I didn’t see last year. Our very knowledgeable guide was great & took lots of photos of us along the way.

Great ride and meal! - Great outing! Gio is both informed and enthusiastic. My wife was hesitant about riding a bike in Cartagena, but it worked out great! Even though the traffic is chaotic, it moves slow, people are courteous and used to watching out for motos and pedestrians. The market is crowded, warm and aromatic- similar to a south East Asian market. The meal was great and everyone was hospitable. Two thumbs up! Gracias Gio!

A Highlight of Our Trip - Giovanni is as knowledgeable about Cartagena as he is passionate, which made for an informative, exciting and, all around, fun excursion! Exploring Cartagena by bike was a pleasant, refreshing way to beat the heat of a Colombian summer and visit areas you never could have made it to on foot in such short order. While you do spend much of the ride navigating the active streets, Giovanni provides you with excellent quality bikes and several extra professional riders to help keep everyone on track and stop traffic, if needed. The food stalls are an adventure in and of itself - one we won’t forget. If you are looking for a way to explore Cartagena that is equal parts active, immersive and insightful, I encourage you to consider spending an afternoon taking this tour!
