Excellent - I had a great experience with John Wayne. The three islands we visited were a blast. The snorkeling experience was my favorite part of the trip!

Awesome - excellent! Franklin was very knowledgeable and great in both english and spanish. We loved the tour around the islands. Plenty of time to see and do in one day. Definitely worth the price and highly recommended for anyone coming through Cartagena!

Isla tour with John Wayne. - Went out with John Wayne. Trip was good. Only wish we had more time at the last two beaches, Cholon and playa Blanca. Very good service and created a good atmosphere.

Overall great day trip - Enjoyable day. We had the use of a day bed in a sectioned off area of the beach with a bar. Lunch was good - you have a voucher for 30,000 mil and can pay extra for more expensive items if you want. Be prepared for a very bumpy ride when you get closer to the beach. And the water is rocky close to the shore - but it’s clear enough to be able to watch your step. Just don’t bother showing up at the requested time of 5:55am. They didn’t get there until 6:45ish and the local seller near the pickup spot we chatted with said Backpackers is usually late and sometimes not there until 7-7:15. Overall very much enjoyed the day. Perfect amount of beach time. Leader Jon Wayne was great and gave instructions and updates in Spanish and English.

Let's take a boat trip to a private beach - it will be fun, they say! - I had read a number of reviews of day trips to similar resorts. I did not like what I read and tried to tell the family what to expect but no one listened. This is not a bad place but there is nothing there! Just a beach with lounges everywhere, vendors selling trinkets, waiters and a bar. The food was OK but I am not a fan of the cuisine and always looking for a cheeseburger. The beach was clean but really hot and sticky sand and saw no snorkeling. The worst part was the boat trip. Coming back, the wind had picked up and the seas got rough and the boat driver was going way too fast for the conditions. Thus, serval people were having problems, one with anxiety. Overall, there are beaches in town that are just as good and we all agreed that the day trip was not worth it.

Ok - The Tours company change the time of pick up and I had no knowledge. We were standing outside on the streets of Cartagena at 6 AM in the morning yet pick up time was changed to 6:45 AM. The water at this beach is amazing and the staff who attended to you here were phenomenal.

Not relaxing - There were too many boats in the area. Too many vendors. Too many flies on your food. Not a peaceful stay. Lunch was okay. The tour guides were nice.

Barú....Bario - Okay, you live and you learn. The Google Maps said 1 hour 15 mins to Baru Playa...yeah it's the correct time to Baru but there's no "playa" that I would venture to. Baru is a barrió NOT a turistas lugares. As I was driving thru the trash, rubbish and overall view of this town caused me to call an audible and turn around and leave. I won't even get into the motorcyclists that tried to stop me and then followed til I gave one of em 5,000 pesos ( $1.50) and he still insisted on following us.... on the return I just sped thru their attempted blockade. Now, to be honest we never made it to the beach as I said the town itself looked ....just bad and not conducive to attracting tourists. As an avid scuba diver that rents a car wherever I go I need to be able to pick up and go at my discretion and I don't wanna take another boat as I'm on a boat 3 days out of my trip/vacation. I'll stick to the pool at the Hilton. Nothing ventured, Nothing learned/gained

Horrible experience - Attention please listen to me carefully DO NOT BOOK THE FULL DAY PLAYA BLANCU BARU TOUR WITH BACKPACKERS they are scammers I repeat do not book with them and here is why 1- they overpacked the van that takes us to the beach plus the AC was not working . We were all stuck on top of each other like sardines . 2- when we reached the beach location it’s was super dirty , lots of garbage on the floor and the place was packed with street vendors that we’re harassing to buy stuff . 3- the walk to the beach area is super long once we got to the location we had to pay extra for the cabana longing chairs which was supposed to be included in the price . 4- the beach area is gross and full of rocks which was very slippery. The description of the excursion stated white powdery sand with nice blue water which is false . 5- the massage lady were walking around with a bucket of coconut oil asking us if we wanted a massage , which was very unsanitary nobody took a massage from our group 6- the street vendors were harassing us all day inside the cabana no peace . No running water in the bathroom. 7- the servers were extremely slow to give us our drinks plus an hour before we left the servers were harassing people that were at the beach swimming asking them to come out of the water to pay their bills . Horrible experience I’ll never book with this company and neither should you book your beach tour with another company .
