Additional Information

Join Professor Nat, our certified guide, for a private daylong cultural tour through Puerto Rico’s remarkable northeastern territory and its five distinct municipalities. You’ll be astonished by the diversity of landscapes and ecosystems, which include coastal forests, wetlands, a bio-luminescent lagoon, sea-grass habitats, both shallow and deep coral reefs, as well as miles of immaculate beaches. Begin with a culinary adventure at the exotic food stalls in Pinones, savoring the famous, authentic ‘fritura’. We then journey to the enigmatic Loiza, giving us a glimpse into the realm of African society and rituals. On offer is a local barbecued lunch packed to go(extra charges apply, serves in picnic style). We visit the majestic El Yunque in Rio Grande, the sole rain forest within the national park system - here we will take you through a lush jungle hike all the way to a river that was sanctified by the Taino Indians. Next, we hit the Natural Water Slide (please note that riding the slide is at your own risk). We end our journey at Luquillo: the ‘Capital of Bathing’, which flaunts possibly Puerto Rico’s most gorgeous beach where you can wallow in the shimmering silver sands and crystalline turquoise waters.

  • Alcoholic drinks only for 18+
  • This excursion explores the El Yunque National Forest, managed by the U.S. Forest Service.

Great adventure with a knowlegeable leader - I highly recommend this tour. Natalia is very knowlegeable about the history and current activities on the island. She's very friendly and accommodating generously providing us with some local treats to taste. Traveling to El Yunque was much better with a knowlegeable guide compared with going on our own. The chance to swim at a beautiful beach was very enjoyable. She picked us up and dropped us off right at the location of our apartment. We really enjoyed our day together with her.

Professor Nat is a Great Tour Gude! - We were lucky to be able to book Professor Nat as our tour guide, as she is not often available. She is very knowledgeable and provided a lot of information about El Yunque Rain Forest and the eastern coast line. She is also well versed in Puerto Rican culture & foods. We climbed to both waterfalls, but she made sure first that we were comfortable doing the climb & constantly checked on us. She also provided some extras. Highly recommend!

Comfortable, not rushed and super fun day!! - Nat is an amazing tour guide! We had a group of 4 and we ended up having our own private tour. Excellent communication leading up to the day, and clear pick up instructions. She was right on time, and we never felt rushed despite all the activities she crammed into one day. She took pictures while my friends and I swam and hiked. She texted them to us at the end of the evening. Nat is super knowledgeable about the island, the history and the landscape. She picked us up in her own car so we weren’t riding in a big bus. We were able to talk easily and she is enjoyable to talk with and a lot of fun to be around! Well done!!

Blessed - Profe Nat, a ton of gratitude for your kindness, professionalism, and generosity in spoiling us with drinks and treats. Natalia is not only highly educated but extremely intelligent and humble. We connected with Nat right away, as a native, I saw her passion for this amazing Island and it’s people. You blessed us in so many ways. We loved everything about this tour, the many stops throughout local communities and beaches. I can write about you for days. Our daughter was moved by the mud clay ritual and how you connected with El Yunque. Thank you for the amazing experience, education, and treating us like family, Nat you went above and beyond! We will miss you.

The best way to visit highlights of PR’s northeast! - Profesor Nat was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable! The tour was very comprehensive, taking us to 3 different beaches, and 2 destinations within the rain forest of El Yunque. Off the beaten path, very educational for all of us, specifically my son. I was born in PR and this tour gave him an opportunity to take a glimpse at my childhood, and to appreciate the very rich culture and history, while having lots of fun swimming, snorkeling, hiking and sampling Puerto Rican food. I highly recommend it!
