A gnarly experience - We came on a clear and beautiful day, the waves were perfect for learning, and the guide (although I don’t remember his name) was super awesome. He explained things thoroughly, and was there to guide and help us catch waves. It was an even better experience than I could have anticipated! I highly recommend Waterworld Surfing School at the Marriott.

Positive experience but not best for short people - Lots of instructors in the water keeping everyone safe and moving the group back together as people drifted off or the tide changed to make certain parts of the coast have deeper water. Good instructions and tips from instructors all of whom were very friendly. In front of a hotel with lots of beach chairs for members of family not doing the lessons. I had a great time as a beginner and managed to stand up in time to ride the end of a few waves. This is not lil kiddy waves but actual ones so it can be hard getting the board and urself far out enough to have enough time to stand while you surf back but instructors help you through it at least in the beginning while you are learning. If you are short or don’t know how to swim I dont recommend this because after a certain point u have to be the one to walk/swim ur board out to a point where you can surf back in and the water (at least when I went ) was 5 foot normal and up to 8 or so with waves

Great learning experience - Instructor arrived very soon after I arrived and teaching started right away. Last for about 1.25 hr ( I was tired so called the day). The coaching style is very encouraging and with patience. I was so excited that I could stand on board for a while! Forget to tip him so leave a awesome comment here. Parking is at the hotel and charges for 5$ after validation.

Beginner surf - Fernando was extremely nice! He was very good teacher too! Great location. Water was warm, great waves!!

First Surfing Lesson and So much fun - Was the First Time for me surfing and I was alone. Online booking was flawless, and spontaneus. Hector instructed me well and I had so much fun. Could Even ride some Waves standing on the board. I can highly recommend this place for surfing!

Honeymoon Surfing - Alexis, the instructor was great! The class is great and he really provides tips and feedback as you attempt to surf. My husband and I, and our friends, highly recommend this class!

Fun but a bit crowded - This was a fun experience for us and the kids. They give you about 5 minutes of instruction on the beach which is probably sufficient since it's more of a practice thing. Then they have people in the water helping get you going and timing the waves. Our biggest complaint was how crowded it was. I sometimes felt like I couldn't make surfing attempts because of people in front of me. There were more than one mishaps of people surfing into others. We found that it you stick with it, most get tired and stop after about a half hour and then there's more room and more time with the instructors out in the water.

Smaller groups and more personal teaching needed for the price - A regular introduction course to surfing. Me and my girlfriend arrived for the morning's first class and needed to wait for 90 minutes for it to start as the teachers wanted to wait for a large group. As the large group arrived, there were around 15 beginners for 3 teachers. As a result, there was no personal teaching but we tried to surf independently for an hour before leaving.

Not legit - Sorry, the guy was super nice and deserved kudos for repeatedly pulling the kids out past the white water break, but I should have known to do more research. The surf lesson was booked not in the morning, but mid day. There was not much dry land instruction and not water safety mentions. It was a red flag day. Boards are short, lightweight foam boards. Kids have surfed before but this day was a mess. At a certain point we asked if the instructor could demonstrate catching a wave, and he could not. Please do your research on where the best surf is in PR and go there if you want to be serious about surfing. For this location perhaps it’s best to stick with boogie boarding and don’t waste $100+ for a lesson.

Ability to swim is required! - The ad falsely states that no swimming experience is necessary. This was the sole reason we chose this company, as my sister in law can’t swim. However, Victoria, our instructor said that was not the case and swimming was very much necessary. I have contacted the owner to let him know that his ad is false and have requested a refun. Have not yet received it.
