Highlights
  • 17-Mile Drive - Explore one of the most famous and prominent golf resorts in North America.

  • Spanish Bay - Home to many restaurants, beautiful views, and a world famous golf course.

  • Point Joe - Point Joe is the 5th point on 17-Mile Drive. Its coastline is made of Granite rocks formed 65 million years back and it gives this coastline a rugged look. The place had several shipwrecks in history due to its rocky shares and its location near to Monterey Bay. The place has ample parking and sitting benches to relax. There are several information boards to read about the place. About the origin of the name Point Joe, there is debate over that for years now. Some historians believe that there was a Chinese man who lived in a driftwood structure here in the early 1900’s that sold goods to explorers. It is unclear whether Point Joe was named for the Chinese man or if the man was named after the location. A great place to look out for everyones favorite marine mammal the Souther Sea Otter.

  • China Rock - See the place where an old, Chinese fishing village used to sit.

  • Bird Rock Vista Point - We take a restroom break here and watch sea lions play in the water. Your guide will help you identify the wildlife that you see and share some fun facts…both about the animals and the rock.

  • Seal Rock Creek beach - Enjoy the beautiful view.

  • Fanshell Overlook - Stop to look for sea otters at this beautiful lookout. Learn a bit about the Cypress Point Country Club from your guide. Note: in the Spring this stop is closed to protect the Harbor Seals pupping on the nearby beach.

  • Cypress Point Lookout - Stop to look for sea otters at this beautiful lookout. Learn a bit about the Cypress Point Country Club from your guide. On a clear day you can see the Point Sur Lighthouse in Big Sur.

  • Crocker Grove - Home to the oldest and largest of our Monterey Cypress trees, we will cover some of the issues facing this environment.

  • Lone Cypress - This tree is famous for historically being the half way mark along 17-mile drive. In 1919 it became the logo for Pebble Beach Golf Links.

  • Ghost Tree - The views of Point Lobos and Carmel Bay are amazing.

  • Pebble Beach Golf Links - This will be the longest stop of the tour where guest our free to roam on their own for about 30 minutes. Take in the beauty of Still Water Cove, learn about the golf history and the course, get you a souvenir, or just sit and relax with a snack and warm beverage.

Excellent Guided Electric Bike Guided Tour 17-mile Drive - We loved our electric bike guided tour. Emily was our excellent guide. She was patient and attentive to the group and made a special effort to accommodate requests. While one can rent an electric-assist bike (which are fun indeed to ride and very helpful on our 20 mile ride) but we would have missed so many sights and interesting places not having a guide. We decided to depart out of the MDE bike shop in Monterrey rather than downtown Carmel because more of the ride is via a bike path versus having to share the road with cars. We had a great afternoon and would love to do another guided bike ride with this company on a return trip to Carmel.

Fun tour! - This was a lot of fu! Be prepared as you are on a road with often no bike lane and with cars trying to pass can get quite close as they try to get by. Leslie was great guide! If the sun had come out the views would have been so much more spectacular but it was still a great way to experience the 17 mile drive.

Great time on 17 mile Tour - We had a great time. Isabelle was amazing guide. We spent just the right amount of time stopping for photos and looking around. This was our first time on electric bikes and she show us how to operate and were easy to use and made going up hills every easy.

Great tour - highly recommend - We had an awesome time on our tour. Leslie was very informative and we got to enjoy the beautiful views of the 17 mile drive. It was our first time on e-bikes and we were a bit anxious but we managed very well and had a great time. Would do it again if we’re in the area.

Disappointed traveler - Tour leader was pleasant but not very engaging. For couples that might not be adept at biking, she went too fast. Roads were narrow, curved, and had a significant amount of traffic. This made it problematic to look around at what were many beautiful sites. Tour was a bit misrepresented on your website-we expected it to be on trails or paved bike paths.

Don't judge a tour by its cover. - Let's me start by saying we had high hopes for this activity based on reviews and the appearance of the shop. Everything looked so nice and it seemed like they knew what they were doing until we arrived and chaos ensued. Nobody greeted us as we entered and then it took forever for us to get checked in. The blonde older woman who we talked to first was very rude to her staff and then wasn't the most friendly with us. We then proceeded to hear her talk badly about who we would later find out is our guide. After some lengthy talks and walk throughs we hit the road. The route was okay the first portion wasn't very scenic but the second half along the coast made up for it. The guide seemed new and struggled with questions about the local wildlife or didn't have answers which was a bit disappointing. Overall I felt like this was a bike shop who just decided to star to doing tours so hopefully they will figure it out or were just having a off day. But not a very enjoyable experience for myself or my partner.
