It was my first time on... - It was my first time on an electric bike and that made the inclines easier. We saw beautiful vistas.

Best part of our trip to Quebec - Owner was super energetic, friendly and helpful. The route he suggested was perfect for our family. Beautiful scenery, good places to stop and explore and the roads were not heavily traveled. Only thing that could have been improved was better fitting helmets… helmets could have been more adjustable.

Excellent experience - so glad we booked this! - Our family (with two teens) had a wonderful time. The rental process was easy. The bikes and helmets were in great shape and easy to ride. Our host gave some great recs. We stopped at a strawberry farm, chocolaterie, several outlets with amazing views of the falls and the city, a winery, and a black currant creamery. It was a beautiful day, and all the stops were great. Our teens weren't thrilled with the hills toward the end of the ride, but it was manageable. If you aren't in shape, go for the e-bikes. If you have small children, the traffic increased in the late afternoon and may not be safe for kids. The teens were fine. Ubers are not plentiful on the island, and the company called us a local taxi, which was helpful. A highlight of our trip. Highly recommended Quebec Adventure Tours.

Highlight of our Trip! - Renting bikes from Quebec Adventure Tours was the highlight of our trip to Quebec City! The bikes are located at Motel d’Orleans. We rented peddle bikes for the “extended period” and were able to use them as long as we wanted. 4 hour rental is $50, the extended period is 70. We really appreciated the customer service and how easy going the business was. When we asked what time to bring back the bikes, they said “just bring them back whenever you are done, if we are closed when you get back, just park them by the shed.” This made our day quite relaxing, knowing that we weren’t under a time crunch. We biked around the perimeter of the island which was 67 km. There is a nice shoulder on the side of the road, and there isn’t too much traffic, so we felt quit safe. There are some hills, but not too many. We made several stops throughout the day, and we biked at a leisurely pace, so the entire trip took us about 6 or 7 hours. We stopped at several wineries, cider tastings, bakeries, cheese shops, antique stores, art shops, fruit stands, and a chocolate shop. There are so many cute local businesses that it is impossible to stop at them all! We enjoyed our bike ride so much that we ended up doing the whole thing again two days later, and stopping at all different stops along the way. If you do not have a car, it can seem a bit difficult to get to the island. We didn’t have a car and asked advice of several locals. Everyone warned us that a taxi would be very expensive and that it would be hard to find a taxi to get us back to old Quebec when we were done. We were advised to take a bus to Montmorency Falls and then take a taxi across to the island. We did that on our first time to the island. We took the number 800 from old Quebec to the falls, the trip took about an hour and cost $3.75 each. The taxi from the falls to the island cost $30. Once we got to the bike rental place they gave us the number of a local taxi driver from the island to take us back to Old Quebec. We called this taxi driver and he arrived within 10 minutes (locals from Quebec had warned us that it could be an hour wait for a taxi, but this was not the case for us). The trip back to old Quebec cost $50 with tip. We were so impressed with the local island cab driver that we called him directly the next time we wanted to go to the island. He came and picked us up in Old Quebec, arriving 20 minutes after we called him. The trip cost $50 with tip, and he asked us when we would be done. When we were done our bike ride he was at the bike place waiting for us to take us back to Quebec! It was so easy and convenient with this cab driver, just ask the bike rental employees for his number and you will be well taken care of!

Good afternoon - Great staff and beautiful area. I thought we'd be biking more in the four hours but there are lots of spots we wanted to stop. If we'd had a car we would've ridden first to explore and then gone to get chocolate and ice cream (both worth the stop!) Very small shoulders on the roads (it was a busy weekend afternoon) so rear view mirrors would be really helpful.

Great afternoon out of the city - Great experience! We did the self-guided tour with my wife on an e-bike (great on the hills) and myself on a regular bike. The staff were very nice and informative - they held our suitcases for us, had sunscreen we could use and were flexible on the return time. Things that could be better: the bicycle drivetrains needed a bit of tuneup and lubricant and a paper map that we could write on while they explained the route/destinations would be nice. Things to know: there are a lot of hills. The road has a small shoulder and on some stretches there were a lot of cars and trucks passing.

Much harder than anticipated - This ride is not for beginners. It is advertised as being for ages “0-99” and being a leisurely ride. It was not. The island is very hilly and in some spots there are fairly steep inclines. We had to walk our bikes often. The island is lovely and if we had a better idea of what we were getting into we may have selected an electric bike. Not that it was the companies fault but it also began to torrentially downpour and there was no where for us to seek shelter. I feel like they should have sweeper vans especially in bad weather to offer rides to wet riders or for people who may be struggling with the route.
