Additional Information

Trains hold a certain inexplicable charm – it’s no surprise they serve as the backdrop for romantic encounters, whodunit tales and intricate burglaries. Perhaps it’s their ceaseless forward drive; the closeness of the limited space, or the thrill and expectancy they incite.

Nestled in an already picturesque nation, the overwhelming magnetism of the countryside pulls one closer while seated in this steam-powered train, gazing at the ever-evolving landscape.

Our passengers relish their time on the train doing their favorite activities, whether it’s socializing at the bar, reading a novel, enjoying the views, spending quality time with family, or simply closing their eyes to savor the calming noises of the railway.

Well organized family fun - Very well organized with excellent communication through the whatsapp group. Staff were friendly & helpful & handled difficult intoxicated passengers well. The train is punctual. Our very fussy children absolutely thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Seeing CT & the Overberg region from a different perspective was amazing. We would definitely recommend it to friends & family.

Wonderful, fun family day trip - What an amazing experience! The staff are all just super warm, friendly and amazing (special shout out to Lizzle the training hostess and Rina, the hostess). The train is kept very clean. A good selection of snacks and drinks where available - do try the choc frap! - All-in-all a wonderful and memorable day trip with my family.

Best experience ever. - This train adventure, driven and managed by mostly volunteers. People sacrificing a weekend to ensure our safety and that we get to experience a part of history that most forgot or don't appreciate. It's not about the pricing of the ticket, its about the experience the journey and the memory that is kept alive from the money. In a world of worries and that cost an arm and a leg this experience will get you the peaceful day, stressfree and bonus an awesome night sleep. This is for everyone to see parts of the Cape that a car can't give you , don't forget the sound of the train purring on the tracks making it extra authentic to the times when locomotives was daily routine. A definitely a must.

Historic trainiere. Worth a trip but not as stunning as expected! - There was no introduction of the train or its history! It’s been nice and a nice change of scenery. Yet it wasn’t as amazing as expected!

Fun train ride with a view - We had a great view of the mountainous valleys, dams and rivers around. Nature was absolutely fabulous. The market itself was nice but nothing to write home about. The real appeal was the train trip. See different parts of the Cape Overberg region is what made the trip worthwhile. It's good to go at least once. Was a lot of fun.
