NAVY Line: 08h15 - Franschhoek - Upon arrival in the Franschhoek Valley, guests will receive a tram ticket to explore the wine estates at their own pace using the Hop-On Hop-Off tram and buses. The Navy line begins at Groot Drakenstein terminal and includes stops at Vrede en Lust, Plaisir de Merle, Boschendal, Allée Bleue, Camberley, Bartinney, Le Pommier, and Zorgvliet. Circular routes visit 8 estates, with trams and buses running every hour. Expect to visit 4-5 estates. Wine tasting fees are additional and payable on the day. Guests can hop on and off as they wish. Schedules may vary.
- City Sightseeing Cape Town Visitor Center - The return to the V&A collection point is between 17h30 and 17h45, from where guests can return to their original collection point.

Beautiful - This is the best way to possibly enjoy taste different wines from the wine farms. It was on my birthday, and I most definitely booked the best activity, enjoying wine with different pairings like with cheese and chocolates. Also, as a solo traveler I got to make a new friend which is always a plus!

nice experience - A wonderful experience to get in touch with the world of South African wine... the wine tram is truly a wonderful idea... excellent organization (transfer from Cape Town to Franshoek, day on the tram, visit to several wineries)... I had fun and tasted several wines... if you want to visit all the wineries you need to do it over several days because the schedules are very tight... I visited three wineries calmly... definitely recommended

Unique experience - Excellently organized to pick you up in capetown….enjoy the day tasting wines on a really unique experience riding the double decker tram to the wineries.

My Franschoek trip - The whole experience was beautiful, the wine estates were amazing and the stuff was also really lovely. It was worth every penny
I was a little lonely at some point because I went alone so I would recommend doing the activity with someone

Best experience ever - I went solo but met so many great people that made my birthday/tour memorable. The unfortunate bit was that I didn’t do my homework on what exactly happens at each firm but later I got on board with the program. Overall I don’t regret a penny . Next time Stellenbosch ❤️

At first it's kind of confusing... - At the beginning it is kind of confusing to understand how it works, in general it is a cool walk and has beautiful landscapes

Tour could be extended… a bit rushed - Buses from this tour arrive 1h later then opening and leave 1h30 before closing which makes the whole experience a bit rushed (only managed to visit 3 wineries in a quick pace)

Hectic and not much to lesrn - It was nice to experience Franschhook and its beauty. The trip went well with bus from Cape Town, but it was a little hectic since we had 1 hour to visit each wine farm, and it took time to order wine, get it and pay before the bus/tram picked us up. The tram was cute, but the trip was short and not very adventurous. We managed to visit 2 wine farms because we missed the bus by 5 minutes and had to wait 1 more hour for the next bus.
Its important to make a plan which farms to visit before you go. Not every farm is worth visiting, some are beautiful.
My experience is that its more comfortable to go with a smaller group and visit 2-3 farms and get guided around and learn more about the wine, grapes and process.

Timings arent great. Do your research before booking - If you want to get there for the first tram or bus to have breakfast, dont use this tour.
They told us the tram times had changed by 15 mins - they hadn't.
They tell you they will leave 4.30 sharp which if you go by what they say you sit at the terminal for nearly an hour. If they had said they will leave 4.45 then you can stay longer in one of the estates.
Would I recommend this coach trip - probably not, look for one that gets you there for the first tram or bus to make the most of your day.

Mixed feelings, an honest review - Positive element of this tram meant there didn’t need to be a designated driver, but honestly that was the only perk. It says “hop on and off” which sounds so simple, but it’s not really. You have complicated timetables to navigate and unless you plan really well a lot of waiting around. (With the arrival time it’s realistic to only get two estates in unless you’re downing your wine) Its actually a bus mainly that takes you round, the tram only goes to 3 estates. Very beautiful countryside and we really did have a good day but that was just the scenery, company and fantastic beverages.
