This historical landmark remains open to visitors, showcasing events from its 350-year history. The Key Ceremony and Cannon Firing are highlights of the visit. Note: The Key Ceremony occurs Monday to Friday; Cannon Firing is not held on Sundays; both are subject to weather conditions.
• Bo-Kaap - Known as the Malay Quarter, this vibrant area is our first stop. It is a multicultural neighborhood predominantly inhabited by Muslims. Bo-Kaap boasts the largest collection of pre-1850 architecture in South Africa and is Cape Town’s oldest residential area. Visitors can admire the colorful houses, learn about Bo-Kaap’s history and culture, savor Cape Malay cuisine at top restaurants, interact with locals, and capture memorable photos.

• Hazendal Wine Estate - The stunning Hazendal Wine Estate features beautiful landscape art, a Pavilion, Marvol Gallery, Wonderdal, children’s edutainment, a toddlers’ play area, a wine library, and a jazz club. Guests can taste award-winning, handcrafted boutique wines from the Methode Stellenbosch wine region.
• Delaire Graff Estate - After visiting Lanzerac Wine Estate, the tour continues to Delaire Graff Estate, where visitors will be amazed by the art, architecture, gardens, and cuisine.
• Lanzerac Wine Estate - Just a short drive from Stellenbosch town center, Lanzerac is known as an elegant country hotel in the picturesque Jonkershoek Valley. Beyond its hotel offerings, Lanzerac features a historic homestead dating back to 1830, vineyards, and a winery producing excellent red and white wines. It is also recognized as the first winery to bottle the native South African wine, Pinotage. A chocolate and wine pairing is expertly conducted by a knowledgeable sommelier.
• Franschhoek - Translating to “French Corner,” Franschhoek was allocated to the French Huguenots in the 1680s for vineyard cultivation. Surrounded by the Drakenstein Mountains, Franschhoek offers a sense of being anywhere in the world. The town’s colonial whitewashed buildings line the lively streets of South Africa’s culinary capital, offering shopping, Belgian chocolate tasting, and the perfect lunch spot.
