- Adderley Street - The walking tour departs from The Westin Hotel in Lower Long Street at 9:00am as we make our way to the Bartolomeu Dias monument in Adderley Street Cape Town Central. The tour guide will share stories about this important figure in South Africa’s history.
From there we proceed to the monuments of Jan Van Riebeeck and Zacharias Wagenaer, before we continue past the Castle of Good Hope. As one of the oldest building in South Africa, built between 1666 and 1679, the Castle of Good Hope has been the center of civilian, political and military life at the Cape from approximately 1679. We continue on this walking tour of Cape Town city centre, past the City Hall where Nelson Mandela made his first speech as a free man. From the City Hall we take a walk past Parliament, the Slave Lodge, Company Gardens, Cathedral, St. Georges Mall and Greenmarket Square. Our last attraction will be in the Bo-Kaap where we will take some photos with the colourful houses.
