A wonder of a building - On July 12th on the go, in the face of the rainy day, I bought a guided tour of Caprice online. Maravillosa. The guided tour is totally worth it. In my case I particularly thank the Guide who has given it , Carlota, because he has managed to make the discovery of the details of the house surprising and interesting and not a simple walk through rooms without knowing very well the origin or intention of Gaudí.

Comillas, Gaudi and the Marquis of Comillas. - Rafael picked us up exactly on time and reviewed the places we were going to visit in Comillas. He reviewed the history of the towns we passed by as well as their industries past and present. We love these kind of tours because that is what makes it richer. Comillas is a town not to be missed if in Cantabrias.

If you like Modernist architecture, this is a tour you can't miss - I think the name of the tour is Comillas rather than Comillas in Spain. Three old people from Japan joined the tour. There were 7 people in total, including 4 other participants (Spanish). We were guided by an experienced driver (Spanish only) and a young and nice guide (English and Spanish). The explanations were very detailed, and I think it was especially hard for the guide, who had to keep repeating the same explanation in English and Spanish. We visited two places: the old Seminario and El Capricho designed by Gaudi. If you like Modernist architecture, this is a tour you should not miss. At the end, we walked through the old town of Comillas and took a break at a cafe. The caña was delicious. It's a shame that the neo-Gothic Sobrellano Palace was not included in the tour.

For anyone visiting Comillas, this masterpiece is a must-see - Last September, I had the pleasure of visiting Gaudí's Capricho in Comillas, a jewel of modernist architecture nestled in the heart of Cantabria, Spain. This early work of Antoni Gaudí, designed in his unmistakable style, stands out not only for its visual spectacle but also for the immersive experience it offers. The Capricho, or 'fancy' in English, lives up to its name with its whimsical design and intricate details. The building's façade, adorned with vibrant tiles and unique motifs inspired by nature, captures the essence of Gaudí's creative genius. The sunflower patterns that dominate the exterior are not only visually appealing but also symbolize the sun's movement as they face the sun throughout the day.

Great Tour, Different Language Than Expected - Excellent tour and Mercedes is a great guide and safe driver. Just the right amount of time in each place, but I signed up for an English tour and this one was in Spanish. I understand some Spanish but unfortunately missed a lot of the information.

A rather sad experience with happy ending - We booked a half day trip to Comillas and Gaudi’s Caprice which, by the way, are wonderful sites. The tour was supposed to be in English and Spanish, yet we were in for an unpleasant surprise: all the other tourists, except for us, were Spanish speakers. The first stop was the famous Seminari - the guide that welcomed us there spoke only Spanish so that we could not understand the information provided. Luckily, for the tour of Gaudi’s Caprice we had an excellent, well documente guide, speaking really good English. Thank you, Mario, for this wonderful presentation of Gaudi.
