While underground Cavers will rappel down an 18 m drop, crawling, climbing and scrambling over rough terrain to navigate your way to The Grande Gallery & The Grotto! There will be some small space wriggles and squeezes offered adding to your “Caver For The Day” Experience. You will spend approximately 4 hours underground on the Adventure Tour and we promise it will be an unforgettable 4 hours!

Additional Information
The Adventure Tour has earned the title of a Canadian Signature Experience. Being the most extensive tour we provide in Rat’s Nest Cave, the Adventure Tour is the ultimate package. Participants will descend 18 meters (equivalent to 6 floors!) within the cave, and also get to test their mettle in areas like the warm-up squeeze, challenge squeeze, and the Laundry Chute – a part of the cave that offers an additional challenge but significantly enhances the fun.
- Minimum numbers apply (minimum 2). There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there are not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative or full refund
- Caving is a moderately strenuous activity. Guests should be prepared to hike uphill for 30-40 minutes on a mountain trail, in addition to climbing, crawling, squeezing, and sliding through the cave. All participants must wear a helmet as well as a safety harness which has a maximum waist size of 45” (114 cm) and a maximum leg size of 33” (84 cm)
- Not recommended for pregnant women beyond their first trimester

Wow! This was a great tour. - Wow! This was a great tour. We thought that we would learn and observe a lot of history and facts but we actually caved! We were challenged and we pushed our personal limits (safely) and had an exciting adventure. Our group ranged from 16-55 years in age and our guide Brent was amazing. He was knowledgeable and encouraging and fun. He made us feel safe and empowered. We all felt accomplished and being in the cave was a profound experience.

Amazing time! - My family and I recently went on the cave tour, and it was amazing. Our guide was extremely informative and didn't mind answering any questions we had. We had such a great time and highly recommend this tour.

Best bang for your buck in the Bow Valley! - Had a wicked 6+ hour tour with our guide Brent and a prospect guide named Grace. It was nothing short of a thrilling, heart pounding, psyched out experience that I’ll never forget. Brent was incredibly knowledgeable, passionate and had an incredible magnetic personality that we all enjoyed. From the 30 min hike to the cave, massive repealing from 60+ feet to getting our squeeze on in the ‘laundry chute’ was the exhilaration we were looking for. This isn’t a dumb down typical tourist trap one comes to expect in the Bow Valley. This is something that makes you value nature, take in some views, push yourself to some limits you didn’t know existed, using muscles and some physical know-how all leaving you wanting more. Great physical fun. Can’t wait to do it again. To Mr. Brent and Ms. Grace… THANK YOU!

Fantastic experience! - WOW what an experience, is the best way to describe this day. My kids (adult kids) and I did this tour on a family trip to Canmore and Banff for the weekend. I did not really know what to expect but so glad I did not miss the "adventure". John was a fantastic tour guide and made the day a fantastic experience with his knowledge and experience.

What An Adventure! - Our tour guides Brent and Annie were fantastic! We were a large group of 16 that they took very good care of! They patient when we had to get photos, kind when we needed a little encouragement and so knowledgeable! The cave itself was such a cool thing to see! Who knew this was in our backyard? I’m not very adventurous as I’ve matured, but this was the right amount of excitement while feeling safe. I’d definitely recommend this tour to anyone that wants to have a once in a lifetime experience.
PS - Don’t forget to show your guides a little love with a gratuity at the end , if you can! I noticed that after a long day in the cave with us crazy ladies they sorting all our gear at drop off. I think they work pretty hard.

Highly encourage you to take this tour. - The tour and tour guide was amazing. I highly recommend the tour if you are in calgary or canmore area. It is 100% worth the money for the experience if you never have tried caving before. The tour guide was really friendly and great at telling about the environment, jokes and making games in the cave. If you choose this tour be prepared to push some boundaries and have a lot of fun.
