WONDERFUL, AMAZING, WORTH IT!! - Tour notes This past week we came to the decision of choosing this tour upon three criteria. We wanted to tour and swim in cenote’s, visit one of the seven wonders of the world, Chichen Itza and also gave us the ability to try local food. This tour covered all of that from our bus driver Alex to our tour guide Daniel to his assistant Hugo everything was fantastic. Daniel was extremely knowledgeable about the Mayan, culture and the Yucatán. Alex was a great and safe bus driver and Hugo was a wonderful assistant, offering us various drinks, including water, soda and Mexican coffee *wink wink. The first cenote we visited was Suytun, which was about an hour and a half outside of the hotel zone you had the choice of entering the water or not or you could take a photo on the platform in the center. I would recommend going for a swim as it is going to be warm on the tour (it got very crowded for taking photos, so we personally wanted to experience the cenote for what it was - an underground swimming hole!! ). Our next stop on the tour was a local mine in town where we had the opportunity to get a Mayan calendar of our anniversary, our birthday, or the birth of a child. There were also many local souvenir makers, and plenty of local food and beverage to try. There was an all inclusive lunch, which was fantastic. It had many local dishes, including many of them that might be on your checklist when visiting Mexico. There was cultural song and dance, and many drinks to try including cookout. This stop on the tour was one that Daniel highlighted that we should spend our money to support the local economy so if you’re looking for a nice souvenir for a relative or a child, this is the place to get it. Before traveling to Chichen Itza we needed to be blessed by the shaman of the town, which was a really cool experience wishing us good luck and prosperity in our travels to the religious site. That being said the next stop on the trip was Chichen Itza. And let’s just say this site lived up to to being one of the seventh wonders of the world. Our tour guide was more than wonderful. He had a wealth of knowledge of Mayan culture, leaving us with stories to go home with and appreciation of a culture and people that have existed for thousands of years. Ik Kil cenote was unique in its own way and offered visitors jumping rocks. Finally, we visited the beautiful and colorful city, Valladolid- a quick stop and one I would make a whole trip of traveling to again. It was a long day, but completely worth it, the tour is more than worth the price as you walk away from it with so much more than when you began. Need: water, bathing suit, pesos for souvenirs, sunscreen, good vibes (:

Trip with my Dad - We loved it. - I took this tour with my dad who is a first visitor to the Caribbean and at Chichen Itzá, this is a tour that started early because we took it from Cancún. They picked us up at the hotel (in time) and we begun this journey. The explanation from the tour guides was explicit, kind and funny, with a lot of curious data, they left us time to sleep a little while we were on our way, we surely appreciate this (turn off of the lights, no loud music). We got there and they and we were a group of no more than 15 people, the admisión fee was included and we enter as a group instead of making a huge line to enter and delay our visit, the place is amazing but we did got a bit tired so we were ready to go to the Cenote and then we headed to the buffet and visit a small town in Yucatan. This is an all day tour but a great experience. We left a tip for the tour guides (out of our own will) we didn´t feel obligated to just had fun and learn about the Cultural and history of Chichen Itzá.
