Enjoyed the experience. - Starting early and entering Chichen itza on the dot of opening time was very useful for avoiding the crowds and heat. Manuel was an excellent tour guide. Very informative, entertaining, knowledgeable, polite and friendly. The bus was clean and comfortable. Pickup from the hotel was convenient and on the dot. Facilities at the Cenote were excellent, although the food was average. Would highly recommend the all-inclusive option, as there are no hidden costs or surprises. A day well spent.

Great day - Took the 5am tour which proved to be well judged. When arriving there was just our coach and one other. Photos looked amazing as little people. We left. Crazy amounts of people and insane heat. Go early. Knowledgable and nice tour guides and great driver. Some points Loads of space on coach and you get assigned seats so you can take a lot of stuff to store. It’s easy When at the cenote two locks is enough for family of four. It’s easy to just get life vests there for 100 peso but take them up on the usd8.50 combo. Just one locker is enough for two. At the cenote there is a shallow paddle area if you can’t swim it’s fine. Also means you can take a iPhone. All good 5/5 Some tips for tour guides When arriving at the cenote we are sooo hungry. I didn’t buy in the shop not as I didn’t want to but needed to eat first. Eat first shop later Tequila tasting is fun but we can’t take any liquids back on plane. Be good to add a chocolate tasting one for kids also as heard so much about Mayan chocolate and be good to experience. Price is incredible for what’s included. I appreciate need for share when doing the tour but I had to break rank to take photos as got impatient at one point. Be good to just see more even if not in the shade as we gone early anyway. But tour was a strong one. Soooo glad I didn’t book the hotel excursion for over double the price. This was perfect for us as a family.

Excellent Tour and Great Service - Great value and best to go at 5AM tour as you get to see the pyramid first, when there is less crowd and after Cenote and Valladoid, you are back to hotel by 5-6 PM which gives you ample time to relax at your hotel. Food is good, the guide Manuel Tequila and Driver Emanuel were amazing and always kept us entertained and on-time for every activity. Valladoid tour should be a bit longer to explore the town and shops better. But yes overall everything was on-point.

Tequila for ever! - Manuel Tequila and Carlos our driver were incredible! Tequila is so knowledgeable and passionate about the Mayans and has a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh that puts a smile on your face! We had a great time- the cenote was stunning, the food was delicious, Chichen Itza was so interesting and fun to tour. Bus was great (nice and cool for the long drive). We got so much information along the way and learned a ton! Valladolid was pretty and a great spot to stop for a quick coffee and ice cream!

Chichen Itza, Cenote, and Valladolid Tour - The Chichen Itza, Cenote, and Valladolid Tour with Tequila and Lunch was absolutely phenomenal! "Sexy Marcela" and her team were incredibly fun, energetic, and easygoing. Her passion for Mayan culture, knowledge of the site, and engaging storytelling made the trip so educating, she gave us so much insight into the history and meaning behind what we were about to see. Sexy Marcela truly made the trip an unforgettable one, she's a fantastic, educated, and experienced tour guide. I wholeheartedly recommend her and her amazing team!!!

Amigo Travels visit to the Pyramid and Cenote - This trip was amazing and very well organised! Special thanks for Frank, Ray and the Bus Driver Julio 🙂 Pickup from our hotel lobby was on time. Mayan history told by Frank on the Bus on very helpful. 1 hour guided tour by Ray was very good. Everything was explained in advanced and not rushed. I would definitely recommend this Tour to my friends and family. Tip: 1. Buy the all inclusive ticket and you dont have to purchase anything else. 2. Try the Cheese Ice cream at Valloid town. 3. Bring water with you but you purchase on route. 4. Bring an umbrella incase it rains or it's too sunny. 5. Can take a small bag or rucksack no problem, just open for inspection before you enter. 6. We booked the 8AM Tour so had breakfast beforehand. 7. Bring some cash but most vendor accepted Card. 8. Buffet lunch was good, lots of options but take some snacks if you want. 9. Take flip flops to walk from the Lockers to the Cenote, you can leave them on the side just before you walk down the stairs to the Cenote. 10. It's a long day so have Fun! 🙂

Worth it for Chichen Itza, but lots of tourist gimmicks. - The tour was as I expected - worth it to see Chichen Itza, but full of tourist gimmicks. Firstly, I had wanted to book the early tour to Chichen Itza through Amigo tours, however was told my pick-up point option was outside a shopping centre at 4am. As a solo female traveller I did not feel this was safe, and the tour company was unable to provide hotel pick up (staying in central playa, offered to pay the extra $10). So I chose this tour. First we visited the Cenote, which was beautiful, but very busy and crowded to swim. The buffet lunch was adequate, not great food but ok. Lots of time spent at the gift shop with the ‘shaman’ trying to sell us obsidian products. The tequila tasting was also an obvious sell, and as a non drinker, I would have liked to have skipped this activity. We arrived to Chichen Itza around 2:45pm, which was good timing as seemed we missed the morning crowds and had an afternoon breeze. We spent about an hour on a guided tour of the area. Beto (our guide) had lots of great information! I didn’t know any background on the Mayan civilisation, so would have liked a little more background information to start, but overall an informative tour. Then we had about an hour free time for photos / to explore. We arrived back to the starting point around 9pm, exactly a 12hr day. Overall this tour was worth it, but just prepare yourself for lots of upselling (Mayan calendars, drinks at the buffet lunch) and approach it with patience. Beto & Pastor were good guides, and the communication from Amigo tours during the organisation was clear.

Transport, cost creep and not enough time at the most interesting place - Viator sends way too many emails advertising other experiences so important information about your tour, like the need to pay for extra transport charges for pick up due to your hotel location, get lost. You would think they or the partner would know when your booking and put in your pick up location the fee would be added then, nope. Then if you don't notice the 1 in 50 emails actually about your tour and pay the charges, they change your pick up location the night before the tour and hope you are checking email even though your ticket says your hotel is pick up. You are then expected to know you need to meet the bus in downtown Cancun because of a confusing email, which only becomes clear the morning of your tour when no one comes. Again, you of course are checking your email on your vacation and are able to locate the 1 in 50 email giving location details. In addition to that extra $10 per person transport fee, there is also a $8.50 per person locker and life vest fee required for the cenote if you want to swim and you will, plus a $37 cultural tax per person fee not clearly communicated. So, the $36 tour + $10 transport + $8.50 locker/vest + $37 tax means the true cost is $91.50ish per person. That took our family of 4 outing from about $150 to nearly $400. Was it worth it? The 1st stop was a city center and church which we could have skipped. The Cenote and lunch were great! And Chichen Itza was worth seeing except for the 100+ vendors harrassing you to buy something every step. I do wish we had more time at both the Cenote and Chichen Itza. Also Chichen Itza closed at 5:00 but really they started cutting off access at 4:30 to areas like the observatory so we didn't get to see it all. I wish our tour guide told us after the hour tour, of only some of the site, that we only had 20 min to get to certain areas. Ultimately, glad we got to go, but I wouldn't do it again.
