Sasha is the best!! - The cooking class with Sasha as our guide was truly the highlight of our trip. He is incredibly personable and clearly puts his heart into what he does, taking us to a local market instead of a tourist spot and introducing us to unique fruits and ingredients we had never seen before, while explaining everything in a way that was both engaging and easy to understand. Even though we were already familiar with cooking, he shared so many small techniques, traditions, and details that elevated the entire experience, and the warm, fun atmosphere he created helped our group bond in a really special way. A personal highlight was that even our older son, who normally avoids avocados, loved Sasha’s guacamole so much that he ate the entire bowl, which says everything. Thank you, Sasha, for your attentiveness and passion, it was a truly memorable experience, and we hope this work brings you as much fulfillment as you bring to others.

Great experience!! - Had an amazing time with Sasha and Angel! We were picked up at our resort on time and headed to the market to grab ingredients and shop around downtown Cancun. Sasha gave great history lessons and told us everything about each shop and food we passed at the market. The cooking experience was so much fun getting to know how to prep and prepare the ingredients and learning how the flavors would work for each recipe. Highly recommend!!

Sasha & Alex Made Our Trip - This was hands down one of the best experiences of our entire trip to Cancun. Sasha and Alex are incredible guides knowledgeable, warm, and genuinely passionate about Mexican food and culture. They made every step of the experience feel personal and fun. We started at a fresh local market, where Sasha walked us through the stalls, explaining the ingredients, and sharing the stories behind the food. It was the kind of behind-the-scenes access you just can't get on your own. The colors, the smells, the energy of the market all of it came alive because of how well they guided us through it. The cooking class itself was fantastic. We learned techniques we'll actually use at home, and everything we made tasted absolutely amazing. Sasha and Alex kept the atmosphere lively and welcoming, whether you're a seasoned cook or a complete beginner, you'll feel right at home. If you're visiting Cancun and want an experience that goes beyond the resort, book this immediately. You won't regret it for a second.

Such a fun way to spend the day - Loved the cooking class. Not only did we get to make and eat some yummy foods, we also got to shop a bit and hang out with some fun people. Loved the guacamole and the margaritas. Especially loved the sweet little abuelita who was hand making tortillas in the restaurant. Would definitely recommend. Alex and Sasha were awesome hosts.

Fab! - We had such a lovely time visiting the market and cooking! Angel picked us up and dropped us back safely. We got some time to wander through the markets on our own and Sasha showed us lots of local produce. The cooking experience was very fun and hands-on. All the food tasted delicious! We did not make the margaritas ourselves which was a pity, but they were delicious nonetheless. Everything was paid for in advance with no extra hidden costs. Thanks so much to Sasha and Angel for making the experience so nice!

HORRIBLE communication 0/10 dont recommend!! - I had an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience with this Viator booking for the “Mexican Cooking Class with Local Market and Transportation” on March 26, 2026—and I never even got to attend the class. The issue started when I accidentally selected the wrong pickup location (The Westin instead of Aloft in the hotel zone where I was staying that night). As soon as I realized my mistake around 7 PM the evening before, I immediately tried to contact the company. The only option available was a chat box, so I sent a message requesting to change the pickup location. After waiting with no response, I assumed nothing could be done. The next morning, I reread the policy stating no changes within 24 hours, so I took responsibility and Ubered to the original pickup location (The Westin), arriving around 9:10–9:15 AM—well before the 9:30 start time. While waiting, I checked the chat again and saw that the company had responded the night before (around 9:15 PM) saying they could switch my pickup location—but by then it was too late. I was already at the original location. At that point, everything fell apart. I tried desperately to contact the company—through the chat, and by calling, and even via WhatsApp—but received no meaningful response. The hotel I had just left (Aloft) confirmed no one had arrived for pickup. Meanwhile, staff at The Westin also said no one had come looking for guests. Eventually, I received a vague message around 9:48 AM thanking me for my communication—but offering no help whatsoever. By then, I had clearly missed the pickup. I even tried to salvage the situation by asking for the class location so I could Uber there myself, but they provide no address for the actual class—only pickup details. So despite doing everything I could, I was completely stuck. To make matters worse, I later found out the driver apparently showed up at the Aloft around 9:29 AM (one minute before the class start time), asked for me briefly, and left. No call. No message. No effort to actually reach me—despite me actively trying to contact them the entire time. I paid extra for transportation, which ended up being the very reason I couldn’t attend. Had I not selected pickup, I could have simply gone to the class myself. The lack of communication from this company is unacceptable and ultimately cost me the entire experience. Viator’s response made things even worse. They claimed they conducted an “investigation” and found me at fault—without ever asking me for any information or evidence. It felt like a complete brush-off, likely because they profit from these bookings and have no incentive to support customers when things go wrong. Bottom line: I lost $100 on an experience I was genuinely excited about, all because of poor communication and a disorganized system. Based on my experience, I strongly advise against booking this activity. If you do, avoid the pickup option at all costs. This felt incredibly shady, and I would not trust this company again.
