Amazing night time! - Without a doubt, the best nightclub we've ever been to! We were two couples looking for a wild night out and we knew exactly where to find it. Jose our host (waiter, barman) was very friendly and super quick at serving drinks and cocktails. The open bar is a bit chaotic, but not completely disorganized.
The atmosphere, the show and the music make this place a madhouse in the best possible way! An 11 out of 10 for the staff, the DJ,, and the amazing people who share the moment with you.

Lots of fun - At first it seemed pricey but once inside I think it was worth it. The show was amazing. This venue is like a Cirque du soleil show followed by a disco with good music. You can’t help but feel the energy level in there. We went with 13 guys celebrating a birthday and they catered to that occasion as well. Highly recommend the VIP Gold pass as you get a VIPentrance/food/drinks/show/seating … everything included. We bought tickets from Jesus who works out front of coco bongo. He was great to deal with. Safe place to go as well.

Great shows 100% But Dont expect great service as a couple. Waiters prefer groups to get them drunk and take tips - The shows were first class absolutely brilliant in a nightclub setting. You get a free open bar once inside. We went as a couple and chose gold seating with dedicated waiter service and seeing some reviews I decided to take the cash I had left for tipping around 2500 pesos. We were directed to our seating and there was a couple of larger groups which was fine as it added to the atmosphere. We waited over an hour to get any service from the waiters as they were too busy serving the groups with shots and drinks and burgers with fries and we got ignored for just over an hour eventually the waiter came over after I called him over multiple times for a drink and I asked for a whiskey and a bacardi which took another 20 odd minutes to arrive as again the waiters were more interested in serving the groups for tips. After our first drink we had the same drinks put in font of us about every half hour and a burger and fries x2 arrived but we're stone cold by the time we noticed they'd been sent as we wasn't even told. The last 2 drink im 99% sure were alcohol free and we didnt drink them. I didnt aim to go there to get extremely drunk but by half 1 i can safely say ive been drunker on a school night. The group in front had 2 people being sick as they were that drunk by midnight and the waiters cleaned up gave them water and plied them with more alcohol. In a nutshell the shows were absolutely fabulous and well worth the 5000 pesos we paid if the service would have been any good. Needless to say at around half 1 ish we decided it was time to leave and I took my 2500 pesos tipping money and had a great time with the waiters at the hotel bar the next night and they were so greatful and attentive. I get that tipping is the culture and u get the service you tip for but I truly believe if the service is bad then you won't get a tip from me. The taxi back to the hotel was extremely happy and friendly and he got a 500 pesos tip. If you want to goto coco bongo as a couple id suggest you dont book the seating area if u want any kind of service. The rest of it was perfect. Even the extremely drunk outside were looked after by staff and given water etc. Ps. The guide that sold us the tickets said he'd be back to check on our service but needless to say he wasn't seen again. A nice fella called jaziel but once we were in he disappeared too.
Ps again the photos and stage actors were great when they came round to do the photos well worth it.

Not what we expected - An ok night out and glad we went but wouldn’t return. We had booked front row seats as they were advertised what we ended up with was sat 3 rows back on a stool having to stand up to see anything on the stage. The drinks were good and the waiter was fantastic at bringing them as soon as we had drank ours. The night went from fun to wild with everyone around us ending up absolutely intoxicated being sick and generally causing chaos (maybe I’m just getting old!) but the whole place seemed to be quite seedy and not what I’d expected. Glad we experienced it but not again

Message for the staff don’t do anything - Dear friends, don’t do like us, take the basic ticket because nothing guarantees you a privileged place by having paid 150 € Goldmember ticket an hour after being placed, we were surprised to have a whole group in front of us of course they stayed standing with regular tickets that cost $75 , under penalty, they were accompanied by the girl who is in the photo who had a black bracelet, marked staff, I reported my dissatisfaction to this person, she answered me wickedly in Spanish that I did not understand anything of course since I speak that French , moreover one of his friends mixed and I understood that he threatened me , I confess that I almost left, but having paid such a sum, I stayed, I do not question the show that is beautiful, coco, Bongo is for Cancún and Playa des Carmen, the perfect image like us, the red mill for France, the waiters who took good care of us nor the security, but I admit that there are right passes that should not be made having paid 300 € and they75 $ It ruined part of my evening, hardly seeing what was happening in front of me when I left, I realized that I would have been in a better place if I had taken the basic ticket.

Overpriced - I will start with a positive - our waiter (who’s name I didn’t get) was fantastic, before we finished our drinks he has brought another just in time & remembered what we had ordered first time round - also showed us to the exit & walked us down, if I’d had cash on me would have tipped him.
Paid around £280 GBP for our tickets which were the Gold Member premium drinks package, considering the price we paid the seats were terrible, I could not see much of the show going on below.
Must have been if you looked ok you also got moved as a gold member to better seating.
As soon as we got out of the taxi 3 men (The Masks) insisted on having photos (which you can take) with us which yes we thought was good fun at first, I personally didn’t like being picked up but anyway, they expected a tip for this, we didn’t have cash so that’s was tough I’m afraid.
Once inside the photos continued, before you know it the hat it on your head a major hygiene issue for me lol! But just say no to the photographer and they will move on although the mask does a gesture which basically tells you to “F off” and he does this to everyone who says No.
Show was ok, more music videos & watching the general public dance etc, was good fun just not worth I thought the price we paid & I wouldn’t have called it a show have seen much better performers.

Awful check in process, but enjoyable show - We went to the ‘kids party’ in October as a family (children aged 9 and 3), by the end of the evening we had all enjoyed ourselves and left happy, but the start of the evening was a different story!
Getting into Coco Bongo was probably the worst experience we’ve ever had of getting into a venue/event. The queues were endless and very unclear on what you were queuing for, we were supposedly ‘gold members’ but there was no queue skipping going on, if anything, we kept ending up at the back of yet another queue, in the heat, with no idea of when we would actually get in. It took over an hour for us to check in, the checks were like being at an airport, and we missed the start of the show and ended up right at the back, yet people kept coming in behind us and we were quite literally squashed in like sardines, and it was boiling inside also. There appeared to be plenty of queue skipping for the locals, but prepare to be ushered to the back over and over again if you’re a tourist.
Once the show got going, it was a great atmosphere and the kids loved it. The ‘show’ elements were really impressive with the acrobats etc. but the gaps between each show were quite long. There were way too many people in the venue, especially as this was an event for children, getting to the toilets with small children was a bit of a nightmare, like going to nightclub toilets on a busy night out but with children in tow.
We travelled as a group from the hotel as part of an organised trip, and we all had the same experience. We were all fed up before we even got in, but by the end we had made the best of a bad situation and enjoyed ourselves.
I personally wouldn’t go again, but it felt like a ‘must do’ when in Cancun. I would say go and enjoy it, but be prepared for an awful check in process and a very hot and crowded evening! If we had been more prepared for how it would be we may have been a little more understanding.
