I was concerned that I... - I was concerned that I would feel claustrophobic, but it was air-conditioned, more roomy and comfortable than I anticipated. Being able to see the fish, coral reef, and other life under water was beautiful!

Would Recommend - Since it is a submarine, seating was very tight. The experience itself was really good though. The photo memory book they offered is definitely overpriced but we went ahead and got one because we are a sucker for souvenirs. I would recommend. I'd love to do it again.

Very cool - Easy to get there by walking from ship. Easy to get on submarine. The cost was worth the trip. Lots to see

Unique way to experience marine life - Unique experience! I saw many species of fish, coral, and sea sponge, as the submarine descended to 110 ft. Although the seating was tight, I appreciated individual seats, so no one took up more than their share of space. The sub was comfortably air conditioned. The tender taking us to and from the sub was fun, too. Any time on the water is wonderful for this traveler. Our departure was delayed due to weather and refunds were offered to anyone who chose not to wait, as it was unknown whether our departure would be delayed or cancelled.

Bucket list!! Awesome Experience - If you’re looking for a unique way to explore the underwater world of Cozumel without diving or snorkeling, Atlantis Submarines Cozumel delivers an unforgettable experience. From the moment you board the transfer boat to the actual submarine, the operation feels professional and well-organized. The staff is friendly, safety-focused, and great at explaining what to expect. Once inside the air-conditioned submarine, you descend gradually into the Caribbean Sea, watching the sunlight fade as vibrant marine life comes into view. The real highlight is cruising along Cozumel’s famous reef system. You’ll see colorful coral formations, tropical fish, and sometimes even rays or nurse sharks—depending on the day. Large portholes give every passenger a clear view, and the onboard narration provides interesting information about the ecosystem and marine conservation efforts. Unlike snorkeling, there’s no need to worry about swimming skills, currents, or equipment. It’s comfortable, dry, and surprisingly spacious, making it ideal for families, non-swimmers, and anyone wanting a relaxed but immersive adventure. Pros: Unique underwater experience without getting wet Knowledgeable and professional crew Great visibility and marine life sightings Suitable for all ages Cons: More expensive than typical boat tours Marine sightings vary depending on conditions Overall, Atlantis Submarines Cozumel is a bucket-list excursion that combines adventure, education, and comfort. If you’re visiting Cozumel and want to experience the reef from a completely different perspective, this tour is well worth considering

Great experience but beware the proximity of your ship to the sub - The experience itself was wonderful but Viator needs to update what piers are close by as opposed to those far away. When we talked with Viator about how far away it was to walk they said 7 minutes. We added what ship we were on just to clarify. It turned out to be almost an hour walk. We showed them the transcript and the Submarine place was very nice and comped a taxi back, no charge.

Administrative issues - Our reservation was canceled due to issues with the port (nothing the company could have done to fix it, so no problem about that). However, the rating is for two reasons: The cancellation notice was made by phone call (my cell phone doesn’t accept international calls), with no attempt via WhatsApp or email. As a result, we only found out the tour had been canceled after arriving at the meeting point (which caused us to lose time and money on transportation). When requesting a refund, I was told it could take up to 20 business days, which is completely unreasonable and makes no sense. When I questioned the timeframe, I was simply told it’s their accounting department’s process, with no additional solution offered.

Terrible experience - Terrible experience. I have booked this excursion for a family of 4. 2 adults and 2 kids (4y/o and 12 y/o). When we got to Atlantis Submarine office, we were discouraged as soon as they saw my 4 year old son. They said that it is a must that he is able to climb up and down the submarine ladder with no help at all and that if he cries we will be turned away by the captain. We were told that if we decide to do it, we will not be reimbursed if we end up being turned away because of our son crying and misbehaving. It was basically disappointing to hear. My daughter and I ended up doing the activity while my husband and son went back to the ship because the staff wouldn’t allow them to stay with us in the waiting area because my son was whining like a typical 4 year old. We were told that they contacted the vendor (viator) regarding the situation and that we will receive a partial refund since it is not our fault that the specific information were not advertised in viator website when we booked the activity. I am still waiting for the refund and it’s been 2 weeks since we were told.
