Swimming skills are necessary as the tour takes place in the open ocean.
The guide will lead participants to the beach to enter the sea with SNORKEL equipment, including a mask, snorkel tube, and life jacket.
Participants will explore the official CONANP designated swimming circuit within the National Park and protected natural area in Akumal Bay. This circuit spans 1 km or 0.7 miles and lasts 50 minutes (Time is regulated by authorities, and no agency can exceed this duration).
Observing green turtles is guaranteed.
Participants will also encounter tropical fish, rays, and other marine life that occasionally visit the reef.
For those new to swimming in the open ocean, there is assurance and security in being accompanied by a professional at all times. Exceptional service is our hallmark, prioritizing customer safety and personalized attention.

A magnificent experience - An incredible experience thanks to Darwin. The tour is totally private which makes the experience unique. Darwin gave us a very early meeting in the morning so that we could be the first and only in the water to enjoy the magnificent spectacle. The photos and videos received at the end are a real plus. You should know that if you are looking for authenticity and a turtle-friendly experience, Darwin is the place to call. The other providers seem to be real tourist catchers next door. Another big thank you Darwin!

Perfect tour with Darwin - Excellent tour. Darwin is a very good guide. We saw some turtles and he told us a lot about them and other fish. We can only warmly recommend Darwin. We were there as a family. Everything went smoothly and we had all the necessary information to find the place and enjoy the tour.

Well-deserved reputation for being the best in Akumal! - If you are looking to see the world-famous Sea Turtles of Akumal (or any other snorkeling excursion in Akumal or Playa Del Carman) Darwin simply is the best!
I recently took a short trip with my wife to Tulum (without our four kids) as a belated celebration of our 10th anniversary. After reading the reviews here we booked a Private Snorkeling with Sea Turtles in Akumal Beach with Darwin and it did not disappoint.
From initial contact, he provided clear information, was very professional, and has great English too! Additionally, the price was very reasonable and even included photos/videos (plus a prescription snorkel mask, which was very useful for me, a glasses wearer).
When we arrived on the actual day, Darwin was very friendly, helpful, patient and informative. Everyone there knows him and that allowed us to locate him easily and move through the process even quicker. He gave us very clear instructions and really put us at ease about the entire process.
Once we got on the water is when Darwin shined even more. Neither my wife or I are great swimmers and he really guided us (literally!) through the experience. I was having a particularly difficult day on the water and he really was patient and made sure we still had an amazing experience anyway. To that end, we saw 5 or 6 turtles, a reef and vibrant fish, and the remnants of a pirate ship wreck.
As for the location itself, what is there to say--Akumal has really earned its reputation. The water is clear, the setting and beach are beautiful, and the vibe is laid back and wonderful.
Bottom line: If you are visiting the area, I would HIGHLY recommend a trip to Akumal, and you definitely should do so with Darwin.

Fantastic! - We had a brilliant swim with Darwin. We travelled from Valladolid and didn’t realise there was a one hour time difference so we were late but Darwin couldn't have been more accommodating and kind. We saw about 7 turtles - they were so beautiful and lots of fish and a stingray. Thank you for a great trip!

A true life experience not to be missed - Excellent tour, very informative and you see many different species. Darwin is an expert at what he does ensuring you have a great unforgettable experience whilst keeping you, the animals and the environment safe.

Unforgettable moment - An unforgettable moment that was given to us. We had guide Darwin and we felt very well looked after from start to finish with him, a real professional. A lot of attention has been paid to the conservation of nature and the welfare of marine life, which makes this tour all the more beautiful and better. We have been able to see many turtles and other fish in their natural habitat, an unforgettable moment that we will remember forever.
For spectacle wearers, this tour is highly recommended, as there are also diving goggles in prescription.
From value for money to pre- and post-tour Service and equipment, it's just a dream.
I would recommend beard wearers to cut it, otherwise water can penetrate the diving goggles more easily.
Overall, this tour was simply unforgettable.
Definitely earned more than 5/5!

Snorkel tour at Akumal Natural Natural Park. - Instructor Darwin was awesome!
Very careful to follow the rules.
He pulled the ladies around the course. Showed use many turtles and fishes.
Us two old geezers wheezed our way around with no fins . That is bull. Sea life or bottom can’t be disturbed by us using fins when we are wearing life jackets.

Too cold for little ones, too hard to see - Too rushed for little kids new to snorkeling ,and the turtles in the murky sand were too hard too see with the silt and sunshine
