Learned so much in Calakmul! - Our tour guide Izikiel (spelling?) was great! He taught us so much about the ruins and Mayan history but is also so knowledgeable about wildlife and taught us about the wildlife we saw as well. It’s roughly a 2 hour drive each way to get to and from the site from Xpujil but then we walked around the site for around 3 hours and he generously brought lunch as well. It was an amazing experience and we would happily do it again.

Fantastic - We really appreciated the visit of the Calakmul site which is located in the middle of the forest, as well as the possibility of climbing the . Magic 360° view to the forest! Perfect transport to Calakmul and back to the hotel despite the poor state of the road due to impressive works of the Mayan Train. Good lunch provided on site by Ka'an Expeditions Tours. Very good experience and nice staff (driver and guide).

A day to remember! - A very well organised and efficient trip. A careful and considerate driver and our guide, Bianca, was absolutely lovely. And climbing the temples was amazing . An experience we will never forget. Thank you

Great day at Calakmul - Ka’an Expeditions were excellent throughout the entire process, and gave us a fantastic day trip to Calakmul. Their guides were knowledgeable and clearly passionate about this incredible place, its history, flora and fauna. Very worthwhile, as are all the extraordinary Mayan sites in the Xpujil area.

Great archeological tour, disappointing biodiversity add on and poor company communication - Our guide and driver were both wonderful, and our tour of the archeological site was great, happy with that. However, I was disappointed that we paid an extra $200 to add a bit of a biodiversity tour in the same trip, having been to Tikal previously and hoping to have my kids see just a bit of that magic). In the end the company never really answered my clear questions about whether or not this was worth it (as distinctive from what we would see in the archeological outing, and whether it was likely we’d see birds and monkeys). Once there we were told monkeys hadn’t been seen in days, the parrots were elsewhere because of the dryness, AND we had to leave the park at 1pm because of construction. Again, our guides were great, but the professional thing for the company to do would have been to caution that timing is restricted in the park for construction and it may not be the best season for wildlife viewing - and not suggest I pay an additional $200 for this non-out outcome. After emailing 2x about that disappointment, no response, so I’ll let that speak for itself

Nice day in Calakmul - Great experience, we got the recommendation by a friend of ours. Although the ruins and temples were stunning, we felt the overall experience was a bit 'flat' compared to the price. The pickup and lunch were good, guide was nice. But do note that there is significant travel time and little time to explore the Biosphere itself (except for the temples)
