This walking tour will reveal how the urgent need for educated ministers in a struggling Puritan colony transformed into the world’s leading university, continuing to influence American history.
The self-guided tour begins at the Harvard Student Center in Harvard Square. Visitors will enter through the renowned gates into Harvard Yard, where America’s oldest collegiate buildings still accommodate students. The tour includes a walk through the historic campus, featuring the iconic Widener Library with its poignant Titanic connection, the whispering arches of Sever Hall, and Memorial Church.
