  • Islas Palomino - You’ll be picked up from your hotel at 10am and head to the district of Callao. At 11:30am, you’ll set sail to the islands of Callao. Admire the anchorage of yachts, warships and merchant ships in the bay of Callao as you go. During the trip, you’ll go through the Camotal open where sea islands can be seen.

You’ll pass by the San Lorenzo and Fronton islands, see fishing boats at work, various colonies of seabirds and the second largest colony of Humboldt penguins, as well as the Cavinzas Island. Swimming with Sea Lions - We had an excellent tour going from Callao port via yacht to Palomino Island. There were hundreds of sea lions! Many were in the water with us. They were fun and entertaining. There are only four tour companies that are allowed to do this through Peru’s national park service. The crew is the boat was attentive and knowledgeable. On the return trip we even saw Humboldt penguins! Our only advice would be to bring your own snacks and water. Even though they say on Trip Advisor that this is provided, it is not. Other tour people were nice to share with us though. We were the only two people who joined the tour off of a cruise ship but they got us back in plenty of time.

Ocean, boat ride, nature, and animals - Seeing Peru from the viewpoint of the ocean is beautiful, the boat ride is both relaxing and adventurous, and swimming with the sea lions is nothing less than special and a unique experience.

Amazing Tour - Amazing experience. The boat ride was fun and we saw a ton of wildlife. Spotted 2 whales 🐳 coming up for air. The sea lions were spectacular and there were so many. Even though the water was freezing cold 🥶 I would totally do this tour again. We got so close to the rock and saw sea lions swimming in the water with us.🦭

100% honest - The experience around the sea lions was cool, scary but cool. The guide was really nice. The excursion needs some upgrades for the price paid. I recommend a fluent guide, someone that can really explain what people are seeing. I only recall receiving info on the way to Palomino about the surrounding islands but no info was given on the way back to the dock. We fell asleep at that point. No snacks were given although it was supposed to be included. Refreshments and snacks should be mandatory since it's a long ride plus swimming makes you tired/hungry. If not, it needs to be removed off the description and customers should be advised to bring their own. Overall, it was cool but Idk if I would do it again with this company unless they made changes. I own successful American businesses, so please use this info to get better! This could be a great excursion but there are needed changes! Also, you should mention that towels should be brought. The customer wouldn't know if you didn't tell them but I did appreciate the blanket by the guide. He was really sweet. He swims very very well also, so I felt very safe

Good trip! - Brown people time! (My family is from India and we joke that NOTHING begins on time!) -Tour was scheduled for pick up at 9am -Contacted by company the day before that pick up would be 10:15am -I was picked up at 9:45am (Glad I was ready!) We had to pick up a coupld in a different district. We arrived at the port by 11:00am. Then were we told the sailing would begin by 11:30am. I went for a walk. We took at small boat at 11:45am over to the bigger boat. Boarding a boat from a boat is not easy, so be award of this small challenge. We were off by 12:00pm. The boat was very roomy with lots of space. I never felt crowded. There were only 6 tour passengers. The tour guide (I think his name was Carlo...I apologize for not clearly hearing his name) and the driver. We arrived at Palomino Island at 1:30pm. The waters were rough, so bring sea sickness meds or bands. I took the dramamine Carlo offered. It helped. The air was crisp, so bring something warm. Once at the island, there were hundreds of sea lions! The smell was pungent! Carlo provided a wet suit and helps you into it. He went into the water with us and brought a life buoy. Since the water was choppy, I did not feel comfortable getting too close to the island, fearful of crashing into the ricks. I am a VERY strong swimmer, but the current was too overwhelmingly stong. I enjoyed being in the water, but only stayed about 20 minutes because of the huge waves. Once back in the boat, you are helped out of the wet suit and given privacy to change. Bring warm clothes! I was very cold on the 1.5 hour return ( and actually caught a cold). Arrived back at port about 3:00pm. Again, we got into a smaller boat to take us to shore. I arrive back at my hotel in Miraflores at 4:30pm. Bring your own water. No snacks were provided. Bring a plastic bag to put your wet swimsuit in. Bring a towel and change of clothes. The trip was great. I would recommend if you want to get int he ocean with a possibility of swimming with sea lions!

Deceiving ad: we got a 2.5 hour tour instead of 4 hours. - This is a nice experience, HOWEVER do not book with this company, at this price because you will be overcharged. This experience is listed as a 4-hour tour (6 hours in total, including travel time). We did NOT get a 4 hour tour, we got a 2.5-hour tour which is listed on Viator with other companies for HALF the price we paid with America Viajes (tour company). The tour itself was okay, the boat was good (NOT a yacht), the guide was knowledgeable and the views were beautiful. Make sure you take motion sickness medicine before the trip if you have a sensitive stomach, the waters beyond the island are rough! Thanks to the wetsuits, the water won't be as cold when you jump in. The sea lions did not swim with us but it was still cool being so close to them.

Terrible Experience! - Transportation was provided by TripAdvisor, yet the driver didn't know where to drop us off. While stopping to ask for directions multiple times, we missed the boat and got placed with another provider. The "yacht" had mechanical problems keeping us in the marina for an hour. We finally got going yet limped out to Palomino Island (on the way back, we were going so slowly, we couldn't out run the smoke coming from engine). The boat had no towels (the ad did not say anything about bringing towels to swim with sea dogs!), the water was quite cold, and it was only about 20°C with a breeze. We are looking for a refund. We were charged over $500US and this was NOT a good experience!!!!!!!

Not good - This was a bad experience. The taxi they sent got lost, we missed the boat and they put us on another boat that broke down and the engine was smoking. It was not at all the experience we paid for.
