Such a fun experience! - Seeing the sea lions, penguins and other birds was the best part. The ride itself was pretty smooth. My friend gets motion sickness pretty easy and she was fine! The driver and tour guide were kind and informative! Exactly as advertised

Swimming in the kinder garden of sea lions - It is impossible to say how many emotions the tour with the sea lions caused, it was so sensitive, interesting and funny to swim near sea lions babies 👍👍👍

The sea lions barking and... - The sea lions barking and some showing interest and swimming near were the highlights. Nice guides. It would have been great to gather on shore after to formally end as we were a little uncertain where to go and what to do. Got yelled crude names by passing bus passenger. Eventually found taxi home using cabify.

amazing experience - Captain and tour guide were really nice and gave clear instructions. Water is really cold even during summer so be prepared. Take your own towels and a hoodie for the way back.

Cold, exciting, memorable! - We chose this adventure because it was affordable and offered the opportunity to see penguins and swim with sea lions. It absolutely did not disappoint! I highly recommend it, but there are a few notes worth mentioning. The tour starts in Callao, where cruise ships dock. We thought that meant we would be able to go straight from the ship to the tour, but that's not the case. Due to port rules, you can't go from the ship into Callao. The bus will take you to Lima, but you can't get off in Callao. Callao is a rough place. Likewise, you can't go back to the ship except by taking the shuttle bus. We took the cruise shuttle to Lima, took an Uber to Callao (about $8), then took a taxi back to Lima and shuttle to the ship. It can also be tricky to find an Uber or taxi that's willing to drive you between the two cities. Be sure to give yourself some time. The address from the tour company takes you to a corner cafe. Our tour guide met us at the car and asked if we were there for the Palomino Island tour. The boat ride was pleasant and the tour guide gave us lots of information about the sea birds and islands we passed. The first two islands had an interesting history, with a prison on one and a presidential home and Navy base on the other. After that, we passed an island with many birds, including a few Humboldt penguins. Don't expect a huge flock of penguins, but there are several. The big attraction was the island covered with sea lions. Our guide gave us tips on how to behave in the water. They had a good range of wetsuit sizes, including one to fit my *healthy* American-sized husband. These are shorty wetsuits, so be prepared for COLD water. That first plunge took my breath away, but I did acclimate to the water within a minute or so. We stayed in the water for about 15 minutes and I never felt the urge to get out of the water early. Sea lions did swim around us and checked us out, but I don't believe any of them actually touched the swimmers. I wish I had my waterproof camera, though, since the sea lions did come within a foot or two of me. Overall, it was an exciting, memorable experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Would do again - This was such a nice and exciting experience despite the low temperatures. Rodrigo, our guide, was amazing and jumped into the 16degree water with us so we could get closer to the sea lions. Definitely worth it! Thank you, Rodrigo!

Sailing to sea lion rock - The water was beautiful as we sailed out to the rocks where the sea lions live. Some people jumped in and swam near the sea lions with the guide’s help.
