Highlights
- Famara - Learn how to surf from scratch on Playa Famara, Europe’s best beach break for beginner and intermediate surfers.
NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!
After a short briefing at the surf shop, your surf instructor will provide you with a wetsuit and a surf board. A short ride to the right spot on the beach and the action begins. A quick safety talk, warm-up, followed by exercises on the beach and in the water. Our instructors are always on your side, helping your on the beach and on the water. Most of our surf students catch their first wave on their first day!
So what’s included:
- Surfboard according to your surf level
- Wetsuit
- Rash vest
- Practical and theoretical instructions on the beach and in the water, surf exercises, stretching
- Video Analysis (only available for 4,5hrs lessons)
- Medical insurance during the surf lessons
What will I learn:
- Choosing the right surf board and a wetsuit
- Finding the right places to surf safely
- How to recognise rips and how to deal with them
- Paddling on the surf board
- Stand-up techniques
- Find and catch your first waves

Thanks guys for a lovely day - I went with my husband and son to the beginner’s surfing lesson. Famara has a beautiful beach with gorgeous, sheer, rocky cliffs and the sails of kite surfers in the distance.
The surf coaches were really nice, attentive and professional. We had a comprehensive theory and practice lesson on the beach first and then entered the water. We were well supervised the whole time.
My son was a little nervous in the beginning, and as a former lifeguard I normally swim conditions myself before he gets into any open water. However, the coaches know what they’re doing, are careful with safety and were super encouraging and amazing with him. He rapidly learned.
There was virtually no current, the water was waist deep and easy to navigate. The waves were small and perfect for beginners. did everything to help us get up and stay up multiple times. The instructors were very kind. We had a great time, my eleven year old and I loved it, unfortunately my husband’s knee locked up and he had stop due to an old sporting injury.
We ended up having beers afterwards with three others in our group. It was a lovely day. Thanks everyone!

Best day ever - This was by far my favorite thing I did on my trip to Lanzarote. The instructors (shout out humberto) were all SO kind and made it such a welcoming environment— even to me, who had never touched a surfboard in her life. Would love to come back!!

Great Fun with an Awesome Surf Shop! - Red Star Surfing had a great team who had a great 2 hour lesson Garo, our instructor was funny, patient, and helpful. We had signed up for 2 hours, but e tended it to 4 and even came back a second day because it was so fun. Garo even got me to ride a wave yo the beach. Great fun!

Great day out for all the family - Great instructor majestic beach everyone had a memorable day on the waves. We did the 2hr lesson it was plenty long for adult over 50. Youngsters might prefer 4hr.

Great coaching - Great coaching. Waves were good fun. Easy parking. Would recommend a half-day session to any couple visiting Lanzarote.

A lot of fun! Definitely worth trying! - We took 4 half days and 1 full day of beginners lessons with Red Star Surf and we enjoyed them a lot! The crew is great, very helpful and friendly. We were given all necessary surfing stuff in the "base camp" and coaches took us to the beach by van. They divided us into smaller groups based on our experience and they worked with us individually as well. Full days includes also video analysis that helps to understand our mistakes.
Perfect start for our future surf career :D Definitely worth trying! Ask for Mariano!

Best surf school - This was by far the best experience we've had with surf lessons. The instructors are all very friendly, dedicated and professional. The lessons are well organized and include a video analysis and individual feedback after surfing, which is very useful.
